Stay up to date at OleMissSports.com with former players who are currently playing professional tennis around the world. This week's update includes a singles title for Nik Scholtz.

Scholtz takes the title in Mexico…
It's been a good two weeks in Mexico for Nik Scholtz, as he captured the doubles title his first week and then this past week, took home the singles title beating Ecuador's Ivan Endara in straight sets in the final.

The win marked Scholtz' second singles title this year and ninth overall. Scholtz only dropped one set on his way to the title, including wins over the three and four seeds.

This week, Scholtz is competing in both singles and doubles in Mexico. He is the No. 6 seed in singles and will face Oscar Jose Gutierrez of Brazil in the first round. The singles will be a rematch of their first-round meeting two weeks ago, in which Scholtz won 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Scholtz is the top seed in doubles with former Illinois player Ruben Gonzales, who owns a 210 doubles ranking. They will meet Gutierrez and his partner Andre Miele in the first round.

Lutjen playing in Uzbekistan…
All-American Jonas Lutjen has been in Uzbekistan attempting to qualify for the challenger there. He won his first round against Russia's Markos Kalovelonis 6-3, 6-3, before losing to the top seed Danilo Petrovic of Serbia, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3.

Rebels in the Rankings…
Nik Scholtz - Singles: 453, Doubles: Career-high 277
Jonas Lutjen - Singles: 512, Doubles: 725
