ATHENS, Ga. - The 2017 season officially came to an end for the Ole Miss men's tennis team, as the doubles duo of Fabian Fallert and Grey Hamilton lost their second-round match to Valparaiso's Charlie Emhardt and Jeffrey Schorsch Friday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

The Rebel duo fell behind 3-0 early in the first set, after a quick break by the Valpo duo to start the frame. Fallert and Hamilton broke back to get to 2-3, but got broken again and ended up dropping the set 6-3.

Emhardt and Schorsch carried the momentum over to the second set, breaking right away for a 2-0 lead, but Fallert and Hamilton broke back. At 3-3, Fallert and Hamilton were broken again. Emhardt and Schorsch held the rest of the way for 6-4 to clinch the win and advance to the quarterfinals.

At the net with Fallert/Hamilton…
• Fallert and Hamilton end their first season as a duo at 17-12
• This marked the second meeting between the two teams
• The first meeting took place in the second round of the ITA National Indoor Championships in the fall, with the Valpo duo also winning in two sets

Thoughts from assistant coach Devin Britton…
"First of all, I'm really proud of the season Fabi and Grey put together. They led the way all year long from an energy and effort standpoint, not only on match day, but in practice as well. It was a tough result today. I give a lot of credit to the team from Valpo. They really brought their A game. We didn't serve our best, and it ended up being the difference in the match. Fabi and Grey will be back and stronger for next season there is no question."
