• Two days removed from a monster weekend (11/2-11/4) in which she was awarded SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors, junior Emily Stroup continued with hot swinging, tallying 32 kills Wednesday in Baton Rouge setting a new single-match program record...
• Stroup had previously broken the record four days prior, tallying 31 slams against No. 25 Tennessee, and a month before that, posting 30 against LSU in Round 1...
• She tallied 22 on Sunday at A&M, marking the 11th match of the season she's posted 20 kills or more. She registered 10 in the first set alone against the Aggies
• The POTW honor was the first weekly award of her career, and the first offensive POTW plaudit for the Rebels since 2016. Current teammate Nayo Warnell also carries a POTW honor, earning Defensive in October of last season.
•Dating back to the Rebels' first contest with Alabama, Stroup has posted 116 kills, averaging 5.80 a set.
• Senior libero Caroline Adams also had a career night Wednesday, tallying a personal best 33 digs against the Tigers, moving into second place on the all-time list. She currently boasts 1,421 in her career after adding 17 Sunday.
• Sophomore setter Lauren Bars and freshman middle blocker Aubrey Sultemeier also turned in career-highs Wednesday; Bars dished out 57 assists to accompany 13 digs for her third double-double of the season, and Sultemeier registered 14 kills on a match-high .480 clip...
• Sultemeier turned in three blocks Wednesday, and one solo rejection, to move into the single-season Top 5. She added six total blocks Sunday, and now ranks tied for 2nd with 28 block solos this season. She is the only freshman on the list.
• Ole Miss leads the league in multiple categories, including kills (1486), assists (1387), and digs (1675)...
• Ole Miss and South Carolina will meet for 48th time in series history Friday, with the Gamecocks leading 27-20. The Rebels have won the last three contests against South Carolina, and are 4-2 against them in the McRoberts era (2014).
• South Carolina is receiving votes in the latest AVCA Coaches' Poll, becoming the seventh team Ole Miss will face this season to either be ranked or be receiving votes.
• The Rebels faced Alabama earlier this season, picking up their first road win of the conference season with a 3-1 victory in Tuscaloosa The win improved McRoberts to 5-1 against the Tide since taking the helm. Three of those contests have gone to five sets. • Sunday will be Senior Day, as the Rebels will honor veteran middle blockers Delaney Gallagher and Audrey Fischer, libero Caroline Adams, and attacker Caitlin Wernentin prior to the match.
Scouting South Carolina
The Gamecocks enter Friday with an 18-6 record and are riding a three-match win streak, including taking down No. 20 Missouri. The offense is led by junior right side Mikayla Shields' 286 kills and sophomore middle Mikayla Robinson's .315 hitting percentage (194 kills). Robinson also tops the squad with 86 blocks. The Gamecocks lead the league in aces, totaling 145. Libero Aubrey Ezell's 59 rank her second in the country.
Scouting Alabama
Since facing the Rebels in late October, Alabama has dropped four straight, entering the weekend with an 18-10 ledger and faces Mississippi State Friday before rolling into Oxford. The Tide remains atop the league with 15.81 digs per set and ranks third with 2.38 blocks per set. Junior Ginger Perinar leads the squad with 320 kills, while senior middle Cidavia Hall boasts a .373 efficiency and ranks fifth in the SEC with 109 total blocks. In their first meeting this season with Ole Miss, Perinar posted 18 kills, Hall tied five blocks, and senior libero Quincey Gary accumulated 29 digs. Gary leads the league with 458 total digs.
Farewell Seniors
Prior to Sunday's match, Ole Miss will recognize its four veterans. There will also be a special presentation post-game to honor the four seniors.
