Quick Hits
• Ole Miss swept the Rebel Invitational this past weekend (4-0), picking up thrilling five-set victories over Ohio State and Southern Miss en route to the title.
• The Rebels have now won 12 consecutive games in Gillom, dating back to November 5, 2017, when Ole Miss defeated in-state rival Mississippi State 3-1.
• The Rebels have dropped just nine of their last 45 frames in Gillom, posting a stellar set-winning percentage of .800.
• With the victory over Ohio State, head coach Steven McRoberts now carries a perfect record against Big 10 opponents, dating back to a 3-2 victory over Northwestern in 2016.
• Junior Emily Stroup took home the Rebel Invitational MVP crown, tallying 74 kills on the weekend and scoring nearly five points a game. She recorded double-doubles in both the Ohio State and Southern Miss matches, bringing her season total to five.
• Junior setter Jordan Fate and freshman Aubrey Sultemeier also claimed All-Tournament team nods. Fate dished out 76 assists to accompany 36 digs, and Sultemeier carried a .315 efficiency, collecting 27 kills and 19 blocks. Sultemeier matched a career-high in the tournament finale, recording 11 kills.
• All three contests will feature first-time opponents for Coach McRoberts since taking the helm of the Rebels. He carries an all-time record of 4-1 against Sam Houston State.

Scouting Chicago State
The Cougars come into Atlanta on a 4-4 record, winning  their last three contests, dropping just one combined set to Savannah State and Delaware.  The Cougars most recently swept cross-town rival UIC Tuesday, led by senior Lauryn Dela Cruz's double-double. She tops the squad with 108 kills. 

Ole Miss and Chicago State have never faced. 

Scouting Sam Houston State
The Bearkats carry a .500 record into the weekend, posting a 3-3 mark, most recently suffering from a sweep from Louisiana. The squad is led by reigning Southland Conference Player of the Week Taylor Cunningham, who has totaled 61 kills on the season and also leads at the net with 20 blocks.

Ole Miss and Sam Houston State have never faced, but Coach McRoberts boasts a 4-1 record against the Bearkats from his days at Central Arkansas. 

Scouting Georgia State
This weekend's hosts carry a 2-4 record, suffering from three consecutive sweeps at the Rambler Challenge in Chicago. The Panthers two wins have come against Mississippi Valley State and SEC foe Mississippi State. GSU is led by junior Morgan Hash, who boasts a team-high 56 kills. Sophomore Meisheia Griffin tops the squad with 18 blocks. 

Ole Miss and Georgia State have met twice before, with the Rebels coming out victoriously in both matchups.

The Rebels return to Oxford for a quick Tuesday tilt with border-rival Memphis on a special Hometown Heroes Night on Sept. 11, with first serve scheduled for 7 p.m. Ole  Miss then returns to the road, traveling to Houston for the Rice Invitational.
