RALLY POINTS
  • Ole Miss enters the week atop the league standings and the only undefeated team in league play. The Rebels extended their win streak to 13 games, the fourth longest in the country. For the first time since 2007, the program appeared in the national polls, receiving votes in the latest AVCA national rankings.
  • The Rebels picked up their first sweep in conference play after beating Auburn, and delivered a thrilling upset last Wednesday, taking down No. 22 Missouri 3-1. The win was the Rebels' first ranked victory since 2010 (#12 LSU, 3-0).
  • Senior Nayo Warnell was flawless, tallying 17 kills on a .524 hitting efficiency across seven sets en route to her second SEC Offensive Player of the Week honor this season. Warnell leads the league with a .433 hitting percentage on the season, a statistic she ranks in the Top 15 in the country in.
  • Warnell's award marks the sixth time the Rebels have taken home a weekly plaudit this season, the most for a single season in Rebel program history. She and freshman Anna Bair have each been honored twice, while sophomore Aubrey Sultemeier and senior Nicole Purcell were named SEC Defensive Players of the Week during the course of the season.
  • Senior libero Nicole Purcell continues to dominate in the digging category, tallying 40 and averaging nearly six digs a set (5.71) through the week. Purcell leads the league with 300 total digs (4.76 d/set). Her 23 Sunday against Auburn ranks as the third-most by a Rebel in a three-match performance.
  • The Rebels sit just one win away from tying the program record, set in 2014 with 14 wins in a row. Their seven wins on the road ranks second all-time (2010, 10), and the program has never started league play with more than three consecutive wins.
  • Sunday's match will reunite assistant coach Tori Plugge with her alma mater, Texas A&M. She is the Aggies all-time leader in digs (1,480) and is mentioned in the A&M record book 47 total times.
