VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. – The No. 24 Ole Miss men's golf team travels to Alabama for the third event of the fall season, the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate (Oct. 7-8) in Vestavia Hills.
The two-day event will be played at Old Overton Club, which will be playing 7,209 yards and par 70. The 12-team field will play 36 holes on Monday before concluding the tournament with Tuesday's final round.
The Rebels will compete against the host school Alabama, Air Force, UAB, No. 17 Arkansas, No. 23 Auburn, BYU, No. 49 Charlotte, No. 34 Colorado State, Minnesota, Princeton and Samford. Ole Miss will get its first look at SEC foes in Alabama, Arkansas and Auburn.
Head coach Chris Malloy has his group of five for the third event of the fall. Jackson Suber will be in the No. 1 position, followed by Sarut Vongchaisit, Jack Gnam, Veeti Mahonen and Brody Blackmon.
"We have had some great couple weeks of preparation for this two-week stretch," Malloy said. "This event will be a great test, and I know that we are looking forward to getting back into tournament play."
The Rebels are coming off a runner-up finish at the Windon Memorial in Lake Forest, Illinois, where they shot a 5-under 847 (278-284-285) and were one of two teams to finish in red figures.
Suber is coming off back-to-back top-five finishes to start the fall season. The sophomore has shot par-or-better in five of his six rounds this fall, and is sixth in the SEC in scoring (69.67). His performance at the Windon Memorial marked his fifth top-five finish of his young career.

Vongchaisit earned his first top-10 finish of his career last outing in Lake Forest, tying for ninth with two rounds in the 60s (68-69-75—212) all while matching his career-low 54-hole score.
Gnam occupies the third spot after his first top-10 performance, earning a tie for ninth at the Windon Memorial and was one of three Rebels to finish in red figures.
Veeti Mahonen stays in the lineup after tying for 24th in his debut in the lineup last event.
