TV Designations and SEC Game Times to be Announced at Later Date
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss baseball released start times for its 2020 non-conference schedule Tuesday. The 2020 slate features 32 games against teams that qualified for the 2019 NCAA Tournament and 16 against teams that advanced to last year's College World Series. Non-conference start times are listed below. All TV designations, as well as SEC game times, for the 2020 schedule will be announced at a later date.
Opening weekend at Swayze Field will be a big one, as the Rebels will host 2019 College World Series qualifier Louisville for a three-game set (Feb. 14-16). That series will be the first of nine straight games at home to start the season.
The non-conference slate continues with a Tuesday/Wednesday midweek against Arkansas State and Alcorn State, each set for 4 p.m. CT starts. Mike Bianco's squad then welcomes Xavier for a three-game series before Southern Miss (Feb. 25, 4 p.m.) comes to town for the first of two meetings this season. The Golden Eagles are one of eight teams the Rebels will face that won 40 or more games in 2019.
After that key early midweek matchup, the Rebels will hit the road for the first time for the Keith LeClair Classic (Feb. 28-Mar. 1), hosted by ECU. Ole Miss will take on High Point, ECU and Indiana over the weekend in Greenville, North Carolina. ECU is one of seven teams on the Rebel schedule who made the Super Regionals last season, while Indiana is one of 12 NCAA Tournament qualifiers on the 2020 slate.
Following the tournament action at ECU, Ole Miss welcomes Memphis for a midweek (Mar. 3, 6:30 p.m.) and hosts Princeton for its final non-conference weekend series (Mar. 6-8).
Then it's an all-Louisiana week as the Rebels will head to Monroe for a two-game midweek series at ULM (Mar. 10-11) before returning to Oxford to host LSU for their Southeastern Conference opener (Mar. 13-15).
After the SEC opener, Ole Miss will play host to UT Martin (Mar. 17, 6:30 p.m.). The non-conference slate continues the following Tuesday with a 6 p.m. CT road trip to Memphis (Mar. 24), followed by another 6 p.m. start at a pro stadium as Ole Miss meets Southern Miss in Pearl (Mar. 31).
Ole Miss will host Arkansas-Pine Bluff for Kids' Day at 11 a.m. on April 7 before its second double-midweek set against Belmont and North Alabama on April 14 and 15, each set for 6:30 p.m. starts. The Rebels will then head back to Pearl for a non-conference meeting with SEC foe Mississippi State. The battle for the Governor's Cup will start at 6 p.m. on April 21 in Pearl.
Finally, Ole Miss will cap its non-conference regular season with a trip to Jonesboro, Arkansas, for the second of two meetings with Arkansas State on May 12 at 6:30 p.m. CT.
The Rebels sent eight players off to the professional ranks in the 2019 MLB Draft but still return a strong nucleus of veterans going into 2020, including a pair of freshman All-Americans in Doug Nikhazy and Kevin Graham, as well as the 2019 College Home Run Derby runner-up, Tyler Keenan. Ole Miss has added the No. 2 recruiting class in the nation to the mix as it looks to host an NCAA Regional for the fourth time in five seasons.
