Nikhazy and Keenan Tabbed Preseason All-Americans by Collegiate Baseball

Nikhazy Selected to Second Team, Keenan to Third Team
TUCSON, Ariz. - Doug Nikhazy and Tyler Keenan will enter the 2020 Ole Miss baseball season as preseason All-Americans.
Collegiate Baseball released the first batch of preseason All-American teams for the 2020 campaign on Tuesday, selecting Doug Nikhazy to the second team and Tyler Keenan to the third team.
Nikhazy is coming off a tremendous freshman season, in which he earned Freshman All-America honors from Collegiate Baseball, as well as Perfect Game. Nikhazy broke the Rebels' freshman record with 86 strikeouts to go along with a 9-3 record and 3.31 ERA. Nikhazy's 2019 accolades included a Freshman All-SEC nod and two SEC Freshman of the Week laurels.
The sophomore out of Windermere, Florida, played for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team over the summer and returned to post a strong fall season in Oxford. Nikhazy turned in a 2.87 ERA in the fall with 26 strikeouts—the second-most on the team—and just five walks in 15.2 innings.
Tyler Keenan also isn't new to the Collegiate Baseball All-American lists. Keenan was named a Freshman All-American by the publication in 2018 and came back with an excellent sophomore season. Keenan started all 68 games for the Rebels, hitting .285 with seven doubles, two triples and a team-high 15 home runs.
The Rebel third baseman was named a finalist for the C Spire Ferriss Trophy, which is given annually to the top college baseball player in Mississippi. The slugger out of Clayton, North Carolina, also had an eventful summer, as he was selected to the 2019 College Home Run Derby. Keenan clubbed 40 home runs on that night, including 15 in the final round, en route to a runner-up finish in Omaha. Like Nikhazy, Keenan was outstanding this fall, posting a team-best .396 batting average. He also tied for the team lead in home runs with three and RBI with 12.
Keenan and Nikhazy will lead the Rebels into battle on February 14 at Swayze Field. Ole Miss opens the 2020 campaign against the No. 1 team in Collegiate Baseball's preseason rankings, Louisville.
