Rebels Roll Past Lady Braves Wednesday

Ole Miss turns in back-to-back 4-0 decisions over Alcorn State
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss Women's Tennis picked up its third straight victory Wednesday, earning back-to-back sweeps over Alcorn State at the Galtney Indoor Tennis Center, located along Manning Way.
The Rebels improve to 3-2 on the season, as the junior trio of Tereza Janatova, Alexa Bortles, and Cameron Kriscunas each extended their singles win streaks. Janatova and Bortles has now won four in a row, while Kriscunas has pocketed three straight victories.
MATCH 1: Ole Miss 4, Alcorn State 0
The Rebels were guided in the doubles point from the veteran pair of senior Allie Sanford and Tereza Janatova, who cruised to a quick 6-0 decision to hand the Rebels the advantage. They secured the first point after the junior duo of Alexa Bortles and Cameron Kriscunas made quick work at No. 2 doubles.
Ole Miss maintained the momentum, as the Rebels swept the opening set on five of the six courts. Kriscunas added the second point of the day via straight sets, finishing at No. 6 singles in just 15 minutes and did not surrender a single point.
Bortles followed and Jandric quickly followed suit, each winning via 6-0, 6-1 decisions, Jandric clinching the victory for the Rebs.
MATCH 2: Ole Miss 4, Alcorn State 0
Ole Miss started right into singles action, playing in clinch format once again. This time, it was Sanford who finished in rapid time, picking up the victory in straight sets at No. 5.
Her partner wasn't far behind, adding a second point to the Rebels' ledger after a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 4. Bortles added the third point, giving up just one game across 13, setting the Rebels up for another sweep with a 3-0 lead.
The remaining three courts continued to battle, as Kriscunas went through a back-and-forth affair on Court 6 and Machalova held the upper hand on Court 1. Jandric was en route to straight sets when Machalova clinched, handing the Rebels their third straight victory.
