OXFORD, Miss. –The Ole Miss Men's Tennis team looks for its first SEC wins of the season, welcoming Auburn on Thursday before traveling to No. 18 Alabama Saturday.
The Thursday match is slated for a 6 p.m. CT start at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center, located off Fraternity Row. Check the @OleMissMTennis Twitter account for in-match updates, as well as location changes due to impending inclement weather.

LAST TIME ON THE COURT
The freshmen trio of Karlo Kranic, Simon Junk, and Jan Soren Hain were all victorious Sunday, but it wasn't enough to propel the Rebels over then-No. 29 South Carolina. Ole Miss (8-8, 0-4 SEC) was tripped up 4-3.
It was the second consecutive win for Kranic, who was the lone Ole Miss victor Friday at then-No. 9 Florida. Kranic registered his first ranked dual match win of his career, downing the Gators' Johannes Ingildsen (No. 79) in a thrilling three-setter. The loss was just Ingildsen's second of the season.
RANKED REBS
The Rebels reached No. 30 in the ITA rankings entering SEC play after knocking off both then-No. 20 Oklahoma State and then-No. 16 Alabama in February. Currently, junior Tim Sandkaulen possesses a No. 73 singles ranking, and teams up with Filip Kraljevic for a No. 75 showing in doubles.
CLINCH KING
Senior Fabian Fallert has come up large in big matches this season. He clinched both match points in both of the Rebels' top-25 upsets over Oklahoma State and Alabama. His efforts against the Cowboys landed him SEC Player of the Week honors, the first weekly honor of his career. His clincher against Alabama was also critical and his first victory over a ranked opponent this season.
FAMILIAR FOES
Saturday will be the second meeting between the Rebels and the Tide this spring. Ole Miss' upset over Alabama in late February catapulted the Rebs into the finals of the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic in Montgomery.
In that contest, junior Tim Sandkaulen and senior Fabian Fallert joined the rookie duo of Kranic and Junk with wins, rallying after dropping the doubles point the night before.
Sandkaulen's win was over then-No. 32 Mazen Osama, Alabama's first singles player, and his first victory over a ranked opponent this spring. Junk dominated his contest at fifth singles, not surrendering a game across the two sets.
Kranic carries an unblemished record against ranked opposition, his first coming against Auburn's Matteo de Vincentis during the ITA Regional in October.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Auburn (11-10, 0-4 SEC) is also searching its first SEC victory of 2019. Most recently, the Tigers lost at then-No. 26 Vanderbilt and Kentucky and have dropped four of their last five contests. Diego Chavarria (5-0) and Alex Rushin (4-0) are both undefeated in dual play, but have yet to compete in SEC singles matches.
While none of the Auburn roster currently boasts an ITA ranking, sophomore Matteo DeVincentis and junior Tim Dollman carried rankings during the fall campaign, and senior Brandon Laubser entered the spring ranked No. 77.
Ole Miss has won the last three meetings and owns a 34-28 series lead, which dates back to 1950.
SCOUTING THE CRIMSON TIDE
No. 18 Alabama (12-4, 2-2 SEC) looks for revenge on its home court. The Tide owns four wins vs. top-35 ITA ranked teams, including a win at then-No. 26 Vanderbilt last Sunday and heads to Starkville to face No. 10 Mississippi State before welcoming the Rebels.
Sophomore Riccardo Roberto carries a nine-match winning streak into the weekend, including an unblemished 3-0 ledger in SEC matches. Classmate Jeremy Gschwendtner also boasts a 3-0 record in league action.
Senior Mazen Osama is ranked No. 36 in the ITA billings and owns a 10-5 dual mark. He and Patrick Kaukovalta pair up for a No. 17 standing in doubles, going 9-3 this season.
The Rebels have taken four straight contests over Alabama, and lead the all-time series 37-33.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS
The Rebels have added a match against Jackson State to their schedule. Ole Miss will now play a doubleheader on Sunday, March 24 against No. 22 Tennessee at 1 p.m. and JSU to follow at 4:30 p.m. Men's Tennis is 3-0 against SWAC teams this season and have not surrendered a point in any of those matches.
UP NEXT
After battling a pair of teams from the Yellowhammer State, the Rebels begin a four-match homestand. No. 26 Georgia faces Ole Miss Friday, March 22 for a 6 p.m. CT match. The Rebels host a doubleheader on Sunday, March 24 and conclude with a contest against Arkansas on March 28, slated to be Senior Day and also a Crawfish celebration.
