3/22/2019 | Women's Tennis
Both Jandric and Janatova will keep their singles win streaks intact
ATHENS, Ga. -- A three-match win streak was snapped Friday, as the Rebels ran into a roadblock at No. 2 Georgia, falling 0-4 at Magill Tennis Complex.
The junior duo of Tereza Janatova and Cameron Kriscunas picked up their first win of the dual match season, triumphing 6-3 at third doubles.
Senior Tea Jandric was leading 6-4, 1-0 when the match was clinched, meaning her six-match win streak remains intact as OIe Miss heads into Sunday.
Janatova's streak is also on hold, after being down 2-6, 2-4 on Court 5 when the Bulldogs secured the fourth point.
Sophomore Sabina Machalova faced a tough draw, battling the nation's top ranked player in fellow second-year Katarina Jokic, the reigning ITA All-American Singles Champion.
AT THE NET WITH… HEAD COACH MARK BEYERS
"There is no doubt that Georgia is one of the best teams in the country, and they played a great match tonight. I was just disappointed with how one-sided this match was. We can't dwell on this loss though, as Tennessee will be waiting for us on Sunday."
