ATHENS, Ga. – The No. 36 Ole Miss women's golf team travels to Georgia this week to close out the regular season at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens.

The three-day event will feature 18 holes of stroke play on Thursday, followed by match play on Friday and Saturday.

The Rebels will tee it up against eight ranked teams at the University of Georgia Golf Course, which will be playing 6,401 yards and par 72.

Seven SEC teams will join the Rebels in competition in Athens before the conference tournament next week, including No. 6 Arkansas, No. 11 Florida and head coach Kory Henkes alma mater, No. 12 South Carolina.

Ole Miss is coming off of a runner-up finish at The Bruzzy in Texas. The Rebels shot a program record single-round score to start off the week, firing a 12-under 276 in the first round.

The Rebel lineup remains the same after the runner-up finish last week. Julia Johnson will be in the No. 1 position, followed by Ellen Hutchinson-Kay, Conner Beth Ball, Macy Somoskey, and Kennedy Swann.

"The team has been playing more solid as the season has progressed," Henkes said. "We have been minimizing our course management mistakes which has resulted in better scores.

"We had a great week in Texas last week and hope that the confidence will carry over into UGA this week. The match play component of the UGA tournament is always a lot of fun and it will be a great warm up before the SEC Championship next week."

Johnson comes into the tournament ranked 11th in scoring average (72.88) in the conference and has moved up to No. 49 in Golfstat's individual rankings thanks to sensational spring. The sophomore has shot eight rounds at par or under with three top-10's. Johnson fired back-to-back 71's last year to finish in the top-20 at UGA.

Ellen Hutchinson-Kay is coming off a career week in Texas that earned her SEC Freshman of the Week. The freshman's 2-under tournament performance made for a new career-low 54-hole total for her, and her first round 3-under 69 was a career-best 18-hole score.

Conner Beth Ball comes in as the reigning SEC Player of the Week. The sophomore shot back-to-back 69's (-3) for her eighth career top-10 finish and fourth of this season.

Macy Somoskey is in the lineup for the fourth event in a row this spring. The freshman fired a career-low 67 (-5) in the first round of The Bruzzy last week on her way to a top-30 finish.

Kennedy Swann rounds out the Rebel starting five. The junior transfer is coming off a top-40 finish at The Bruzzy in her home state of Texas.

The first round gets underway Thursday morning with tee times beginning at 8:54 a.m. CT for Ole Miss. The Rebels will be paired with NJCAA powerhouse Daytona State.
