Rebels Host LSU, No. 16 Texas A&M to Close Out Regular Season

Ole Miss Will Play Tigers Friday, Aggies Sunday on Senior Day
OXFORD, Miss. – The SEC regular season concludes this weekend as the Ole Miss Women's Tennis team hosts LSU on Friday at 3 p.m. CT, and No. 16 Texas A&M on Sunday at 1 p.m. for Senior Day. Both matches are scheduled to be played at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center.

Friday will feature a crawfish celebration, while the first 100 fans can collect an Ole Miss logo pint glass Sunday.
LAST TIME ON THE COURT
The Rebels nearly pulled off two upsets last weekend, dropping heartbreakers at No. 26 Kentucky and No. 6 Vanderbilt both by 4-3 decisions, April 5 and 7, respectively. Ole Miss swept Western Kentucky 4-0 in two matches on April 6.
In the first match at WKU, the Rebels quickly got the advantage, winning doubles by way of default and then 6-2 from the duo of juniors in Tereza Janatova and Cameron Kriscunas.
In the first contest of the afternoon, Ole Miss earned singles victories from junior Anna Vrbenska, senior Allie Sanford, and Kriscunas, who won again via default.
In match two, sophomore Sabina Machalova joined the production, adding wins to accompany Janatova, Sanford, and Kriscunas.
MATCH NOTES
Senior Tea Jandric and Janatova have each been near perfect in conference matches this season. Both boast just one loss in the league and have put together win streaks of four and six, respectively, during the SEC slate.
Jandric has won 10 of her last 11 matches, and Janatova 11 of her last 12. Jandric has also won the first set in 18 of her 19 matches this spring.
Vrbenska carries a nearly flawless career ledger in SEC play. Vrbenska has just four losses in three seasons of league play, suffering two this past weekend.
LENDING A HELPING HAND
Janatova was named to the SEC Community Service Team on Thursday. Junior Tim Sankaulen earned the same honor on the men's side.
RANKED REBS
Following her impressive stretch of wins on Court 2, Jandric jumped into the ITA rankings at No. 74. Machalova and junior Alexa Bortles also secured a No. 85 doubles plaudit.
SENIOR FAREWELL
Sunday will mark the final home match of their careers for seniors Tea Jandric and Allie Sanford. The two have combined for over 145 wins and have helped lead the Rebels to three consecutive NCAA Appearances and their highest-ever team ranking a year ago.
ALL-TIME GREAT
Head coach Mark Beyers became the winningest coach in women's tennis program history following the team's first victory in a doubleheader on April 1 at UAPB. Beyers currently has 236 wins, surpassing longtime coach Jerry Montgomery (1937-2001).
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
LSU (14-9, 4-7 SEC) is looking to rebound from a three-match winless skid. The Tigers have SEC wins against Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas and Missouri.
Eden Richardson (No. 9) and Jessica Golovin (No. 59) possess ITA rankings. The duo is equally dynamic as a pair, sitting at No. 14 in the doubles ranks.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES
Texas A&M (19-5, 7-4 SEC) knocked off LSU, 4-1 last Friday. The Aggies own Top-25 wins over then-No. 4 Vanderbilt and then-No. 21 Kentucky.
Katya Townsend (No. 50) and Jayci Goldsmith (No. 62) are ranked, while Goldsmith pairs up with Tatiana Makarova for a No. 28 doubles mark.
Texas A&M faces Mississippi State in Starkville on Thursday before taking on Ole Miss.
