Men’s Tennis Sweeps Sunday to Cap Grove Bowl Weekend

Rebels face Mississippi State before concluding home slate with Arkansas-Pine Bluff
OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss Men's Tennis improved their record to 15-10 on the season with a pair of sweeps Sunday over Arkansas-Pine Bluff at the Galtney Indoor Tennis Center, located along Manning Way.
The Rebels carried a point advantage before either match even started, taking advantage of a five-man roster for UAPB.
Ole Miss earned its seventh victory in its last nine matches.
MATCH ONE
After battling through the first pair of games at first doubles, the Rebels cruised to clinch the doubles point, picking up a sweep on Court 2 from freshman Sebastian Rios and junior Tim Sandkaulen and a Court 3 win by default.
The match was played out in singles, with sophomore Finn Reynolds and Rios each picking up straight set victories on Courts 4 and 5. The win was the fourth consecutive for Rios.
Battles ensued on both the first two courts during singles play before Sandkaulen and senior Filip Kraljevic triumphed. The victory was the third straight for Kraljevic, who was the lone winner Friday at No. 6 Mississippi State.
MATCH TWO
The Rebels came out firing in the finale, with four of the five courts taking 5-0 leads into the first set and each Rebel picking up the opener to take an advantage.
Rios picked up another sweep on Court 5, improving his win streak to five, joined by classmate Jan Soren Hain on Court 4.
The match was clinched when Sandkaulen earned his own straight set victory, 6-1, 6-0.
