Ole Miss Signee Madison Scott Named McDonald’s All-American

Scott is First McDonald’s All-American in Women’s Program History
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss women's basketball five-star signee Madison Scott has been named to the McDonald's All-American team, as announced Thursday on ESPN's NBA: The Jump.
Scott is the first in Ole Miss women's basketball history to earn the honor, which is given out annually to 24 boys and girls players nationwide. Additionally, she is just the second Rebel in men's or women's basketball history to be named after Jelan Kendrick was named in 2010.
A 6-1 forward rated as the No. 2 wing in the nation, Scott signed with Ole Miss in November as the No. 13 overall prospect in the nation with a 98 overall grade by ESPN – helping the Rebels sign what was then the No. 9 class nationally and No. 1 class in the SEC (the national ranking has since slid to No. 13). Scott hails from Indian Head, Maryland and plays for Bishop McNamara High School, which is currently 18-2 on the season. She is one of two Rebel commits named to the preseason Naismith High School Girls Trophy Watch List.
"When we found out that Madi will be joining the Rebel family, we were speechless," McPhee-McCuin said back in November. "When I first began the process with her, I told my staff that it would be highly unlikely that we get her, but it just goes to show that because we worked hard and believed in what we're doing here that good things can happen. Madison will make an immediate impact for us. She is long, she will be able to play both guard and forward positions on both ends of the floor for us, and she will give us the option to play 'small ball.' Most importantly, she's a winner. She has won at every level, and I am sure that the Oxford community will enjoy having her here."
The 43rd McDonald's All-American Games will be held in Houston on April 1.
