Rebels Defeat Tigers 4-0 to Earn First SEC Win
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Ole Miss (5-3, 1-1 SEC) won 4-0 at Missouri (12-4, 1-1 SEC) in exactly two hours on Monday.
Ole Miss claimed its third sweep in the last four matches, taking all four decision points against Missouri for the Rebels' first conference win of the season. Ole Miss has now swept Missouri in back-to-back matches (4-0 in 2019). This is also the first road victory of the season (3-0 home, 1-2 away, 1-1 neutral).
In singles, the Rebels rolled past the Tigers by winning three matches in straight sets. At singles No. 1, 39th-ranked Sabina Machalova defeated Missouri's Bronte Murgett 6-1, 6-4. Machalova earned her third-straight singles victory by beating Missouri's top player. Tereza Janatova extended her win streak to five by winning 6-1, 6-2 over Missouri's Valentina Vazquez. Anna Vrbenska entered back into the win column by defeating the Tigers' Marta Oliveira 6-1, 6-1.
In doubles, Ole Miss won two of three matches to take the opening point. Tiphanie Fiquet and Lillian Gabrielsen clinched doubles by defeating Missouri's Gabrielle Goldin and Serena Nash 6-4. The Rebels and Tigers split courts one and two. At doubles No. 2, No. 44 Janatova and Vrbenska won 6-2 the Rebels against Missouri's Ellie Wright and Elys Ventura. Janatova and Machalova won in both singles and doubles against the Tigers. No. 24 Machalova and Alexa Bortles were bested by Murgett and Oliveira 6-1.

Ole Miss will host its first SEC match of the season versus Georgia on Friday, Feb. 26. The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 5 in the nation.
