Women’s Basketball Earns No. 11 Seed to SEC Tournament

Rebels to Face No. 6 Seed Arkansas on Thursday Night
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Following an exciting upset win at No. 17 Kentucky and a loss by Florida on the final day of the regular season Sunday, the Ole Miss women's basketball team has earned the No. 11 seed and a first-round bye to the SEC Tournament, where it will open vs. No. 6 seed Arkansas on Thursday night. Tipoff is set for 25 minutes following the Missouri-Alabama game at 5 p.m. CT on SEC Network, which should put the start at approximately 7:30 p.m. CT.
The Rebels finish the regular season at 10-10 overall and 4-10 in the SEC, and the first-round bye is a first for Ole Miss since 2016-17. Arkansas, meanwhile, ends the regular season at 19-7 (9-6 SEC) and ranks No. 16 in both the latest versions of the AP and USA Today Coaches Poll. The Rebels and Razorbacks met just nine days ago, with Arkansas separating late in a struggle for an 84-74 win in Fayetteville on Feb. 19.
This will be the eighth time Ole Miss and Arkansas have met in the SEC Tournament, the first since 2015 and the first ever not in the first round. Ole Miss leads the Razorbacks in SEC Tournament games, 5-3, but Arkansas holds the last victory from 2015 at 72-61 in the first round.
