Crimson Tide Complete Sweep Over Ole Miss
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – No. 3 Alabama (42-7, 18-6 SEC) took the lead early over Ole Miss (34-19, 12-12 SEC) and never looked back, defeating the Rebels 6-1 to wrap up the series at Rhoads Stadium.
Anna Borgen received the loss, allowing six runs on nine hits over three innings. Ava Tillmann came in out of the bullpen for three scoreless innings, holding the Tide to a single hit with three strikeouts.
Alabama took the lead in the first inning, scoring a pair on Savannah Woodard's single up the middle. The Crimson Tide tacked on another run in the second, with KB Sides drawing a bases loaded walk to make it 3-0.
A Kaylee Tow three-run home run in the fourth pushed the Crimson Tide lead to six runs before Paige Smith took Montana Fouts deep to center field, cutting into the Alabama lead with her 11th home run of the season.
However, that would be it for the Rebs in the game as Alabama closed out the seventh in order to complete the sweep.
