The Course
Playing at 7,099 yards as a par 71, The Club at Irish Creek is a stunning 18-hole Davis Love III Signature Golf Course set within rolling terrain that encircles a 400-acre lake, which is visible from Holes 16 and 18. Just north of Charlotte, the course's design pays homage to a past where walking was part of the game. Love's goal was to create a course that members want to play repeatedly - a layout that challenges skilled players to think their way from tee to green, but also "is a course that my mom would enjoy," with few forced carries, wide fairways, and ample greens to accommodate recreational players and juniors just learning the game.

Rebels in the Rankings
Ole Miss will now enter the weekend in North Carolina as the No. 21 ranked team in the nation according to Golfstat, while also slotting into the No. 25 position according to Golfweek/Sagarin's NCAA Team Rankings. Individually, Jackson Suber stands as the lone Rebel to be ranked in both the Golfweek/Sagarin and Golfstat NCAA Individual Rankings, with Suber coming in at No. 30 by Golfweek and No. 40 by Golfstat. In the latest PGA TOUR University Velocity Global Rankings, Suber comes in at No. 11 in the nation, while fellow Rebel Evan Brown has moved up one spot to the No. 62 position in the country.

Suber Chasing Rebel History to Close Out Season
Jackson Suber currently holds a season stroke average of 69.17 on the 2021-22 season, which puts the Tampa, Florida, native on pace to set a new Rebel program record for lowest season stroke average in team history. The current record holder for the Rebels, former NCAA champion Braden Thornberry, put together a 2016-17 campaign in which Thornberry would log a stroke average of 69.57 en route to claiming the 2017 NCAA Individual National Championship.

Rebels Fall One Stroke Short of Hootie at Bulls Bay Team Title
The Rebels found themselves just one stroke shy of earning the team's second tournament title of the 2021-22 season at the Hootie at Bulls Bay, with the team logging a three-day total of 845 (-19) in Charleston slotting in just behind the eventual four-way tie for first between South Carolina, ETSU, NC State and Missouri. A late push by Ole Miss on day three saw a 10-stroke South Carolina advantage vanish, before the Rebels would come up short in the team's final three holes to swipe sole or partial possession of the Hootie title.

Vongchaisit Continues Strong End to His Spring Season
Earning a tie for 18th at the Hootie at Bulls Bay, senior Sarut Vongchaisit has had a recent surge for the Rebels on the golf course, having earned top 20 finishes in three-consecutive tournaments for Ole Miss. This comes having not earned a top 20 finish for the Rebels since his 14th place finish at the Hoakalei Country Club Invitational in October 2019. Vongchaisit now ranks second on the team in both stroke average (70.67) and top 20 finishes (3) on the year, appearing in six of the team's seven tournaments on the season.

Suber Makes PGA TOUR Debut at Valspar Championship
Rebel senior Jackson Suber saw a childhood dream come true last week, as Suber would travel to his home tournament of the Valspar Championship in Palm Harbor, Florida to make his PGA TOUR debut on a sponsor's exemption. Suber would not make the cut after finishing with a 144 (+2) over two rounds, but Suber would finish below par in his first round of golf on the tour, with him shooting a 70 (-1) on Thursday. In playing at the Valspar, Suber became just the third Ole Miss Rebel to actively play on a professional tour roster, with Rebel alumni Braden Thornberry and Jonathan Randolph both currently playing on the Korn Ferry Tour, having each made their PGA TOUR debuts in the 2010s.

Next on Tee
Following the team's trip to the Irish Creek Intercollegiate, the Rebels will close out their 2021-22 regular season by heading to the Mossy Oak Invitational in West Point, Mississippi from April 11-12 before taking part in the SEC Championships in St. Simons Island, Georgia running April 20-24.
