DeLucia’s Career Outing Leads No. 25 Baseball Over South Carolina

Rebel Bats Start Hot in 9-1 Victory Thursday Night
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Dylan DeLucia threw a team season-high 7.2 innings of one-run ball Thursday night, leading No. 25 Ole Miss to a 9-1 game one win over South Carolina at Founders Park.
The Port Orange, Florida, product allowed the single run on six hits, striking out four Gamecocks on the night. Freshman reliever Matt Parenteau closed it out the rest of the way, collecting the final four outs.
After a tame first inning from both sides, TJ McCants got the Rebels on the board in the second inning with a two-run blast, launching a no-doubter past the right field fence.
The next inning, Reagan Burford dropped a bomb of his own, going the other way into the Gamecock bullpen for a three-run shot to make it 5-0.
The runs kept coming into the fourth. Tim Elko tacked one on with an RBI single up the middle, scoring Justin Bench from second, and Kevin Graham lifted a sacrifice fly to right to plate Jacob Gonzalez.
Much like Elko in the fourth, Bench scratched a run across in the eighth with a sharp single back up the middle, bringing home Burford. The Rebel captain capped the scoring on the night for Ole Miss with a run-scoring grounder, bringing the score to 9-0.
South Carolina got a run back in the eighth as Burford couldn't quite complete an inning-ending double play but there was plenty of cushion to render it moot on the night.
The Rebels will return to Founders Park on Friday for another night time matchup with the Gamecocks. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT. The game will be available for streaming through SEC Network + and the call can be heard through the Ole Miss Radio Network.
