OXFORD, Miss. – No. 51 Ole Miss women's tennis (8-8, 2-6 SEC) hosts No. 61 Mississippi State (10-10, 1-7 SEC) outside at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday.
 
Ole Miss looks to make a statement versus Mississippi State with five SEC conference matchups remaining in the 2022 regular season.

Everything's Better When You're Home
 
The Rebels return to Oxford after competing twice on the road last weekend at No. 16 Florida (March 25) and at No. 42 South Carolina (March 27). The Rebels lost both matches to fall to 0-5 on the road this season. The Rebels have lost three straight matches, but will look to turn things around on Sunday riding a 7-2 home record this season.
 
Senior Sabina Machalova earned the highest-ranked win of her collegiate career at South Carolina, defeating No. 2 Sarah Hamner in three sets at No. 1 Singles.
 
Up and Down the Ladder
 
The Rebels now rank No. 51 in the country after ranking No. 44 last weekend. The Rebels have improved 10 spots from their ITA Team Ranking of No. 61 two weeks ago (March 16).
 
The Rebels' top player, Machalova, ranks No. 69 in singles while No. 2 singles player Anaëlle Leclercq-Ficher slots in at No. 120 on the national leaderboard.
 
Barking Up the Wrong Tree
 
The Rebels have dominated the all-time series versus Mississippi State, leading 55-7 through 62 meetings dating back to 1975. Ole Miss has earned a 23-3 record at home versus the Bulldogs. The Rebels won last years' contest 4-1 in Starkville and have won three straight matches all by the score of 4-1. The Rebels last competed versus the Bulldogs at home in 2019.
 
Starkvegas Highs and Lows
 
The Bulldogs are batting .500 this season with a 50-50 record (10 wins, 10 losses) through 20 matches played. Mississippi State lost 4-3 to both South Carolina and Florida on the road last weekend. The Bulldogs have not defeated a higher-ranked opponent this year.
