OXFORD, Miss – With Ole Miss women’s basketball set to commence action this month, OleMissSports.com previews the 2024-25 transfer class. Head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin added three Rebels for this season, two forwards and a guard.
The lone guard in the class, Tameiya Sadler came to Ole Miss after spending the past three seasons at Colorado, where she played in 94 games and started in 26. As a Buff, she averaged 5.2 points per games and had six games in double-digits.
The most recent transfer in the 2024 class, Sadler came to Ole Miss as one of the teams most experienced players. Sadler has appeared in 112 Division I games with 36 starts. She’s behind Madison Scott, Kennedy Todd-Williams and KK Deans for the most games played among active Rebels.
Sadler began her career at Washington, where she made 10 starts in 18 appearances. In her lone season as a Husky, she led the team in assists per game with 2.4 and was second in points per game (10.4). Sadler etched her name next to an all-time great while at Washington. She became the first Husky freshman since Kelsey Plum to score 20 points in back-to-back games, scoring 23 against BYU followed by 21 at Cal.
In her overall career, Sadler has averaged 6.0 points per game, 2.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists. She’s also managed 162 total steals in four years of college hoops.

McPhee-McCuin signed a prolific scorer in Starr Jacobs, who arrived in Oxford averaging 19.5 points in two seasons at UT Arlington before transferring to Arkansas Pine-Bluff. Jacobs was a perennial starter for the Lady Mavs, making 58 from 2021-23.
Jacobs averaged 21.0 points per game in 2021-22, the 13th-best mark in collegiate basketball that season. She scored a career-best 35 points against Sam Houston, which is the fourth-most by a Lady Mav in a single game. She became a more well-rounded player in 2022-23, averaging 8.8 rebounds and 3.0 steals. Her steals-per-game mark ranked No. 11 in the country that season.
Jacobs, the first transfer in this year’s class, left UT Arlington with the 14th most points in program history. A First Team All-Sun Belt member, she was the 2022 Sun Belt Player of the Year and the MVP of the conference tournament.
Jacobs initially began her career at the JUCO level, where she was a WBCA All-American at Temple College. She averaged 23.6 points per game as a redshirt sophomore, ranking second nationally. In her best performance, Jacobs exploded for 40 points and 18 rebounds.

Christeen Iwuala spent her first two collegiate seasons at UCLA, where she appeared in 68 games. She scored 224 points in that span, while contributing 219 rebounds. Iwuala shot 47.5% from the field, and had double-digit scoring in four games. In her sophomore campaign, Iwuala shot 54.2% from the field, the second-best mark on the Bruins.
In 2022-23, Iwuala was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week after only playing one game. She scored a career-high 10 points on 4-for-6 shooting. She tied her career-high that game with eight rebounds on 22 minutes. That season, she grabbed 120 rebounds, 49 of which were on the offensive side. Iwuala provides valuable height depth, as one of seven players 6-foot-2 or taller.
Fans have their first chance to catch the three newbies and the rest of the Rebel squad in Oxford for its lone exhibition of the season, hosting Christian Brothers on Monday, Oct. 28 at the SJB Pavilion. Ole Miss will then head overseas to begin the regular season against USC for the 2024 Aflac Oui-Play on Monday, Nov. 4.
