OLE MISS VS. DELAWARE STATE
Ole Miss faces an unfamiliar opponent in Delaware State, with Thursday's matchup marking only the second between the two teams. The Rebels defeated the Hornets, 110-58, in the 2017-18 season.

In that game, Madinah Muhammad and Shandricka Sessom led the Rebels to tie the third-most points in Ole Miss single game history. It served as the highest point total for the Rebels in 12 seasons, last time scoring the same amount in 2005-06. Muhammad and Sessom went for 27 and 24 points, respectively.

The Rebels had a plethora of historical feats that day, including setting the program record for widest halftime scoring margin (45), tying the third-highest point total in a half (64) and set a then third-most three-point field goals made (15).

The Rebels 52-point margin of victory was tied for the 12th-largest in program history entering this season, but will drop following Ole Miss' 61-point victory over UAPB last Sunday.

SCOUTING THE HORNETS
Jazmone Turner leads Delaware State in her first season at the helm. Turner had previously held the title of interim head coach at the tail end of the 2022-23 and all of the next season. Her interim tag was removed after an 8-20 season last year.

Part of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, Delaware State is 1-2 to start the new season. The Hornets return four players from last seasons' squad. One such returner is Kiarra Mcelrath, who averages 10 points and 3.7 rebounds.

Mahogany Cottingham leads the team with 12.7 points per game, which ranks seventh in the MEAC. The Rebels will need to stack the boards against Ericka Huggins, who recorded a double-double against Georgian Court.

REBELS AGAINST THE MEAC
An unfamiliar opponent hails from an unfamiliar conference. Ole Miss has only faced an MEAC opponent three times in its history, winning each. Ole Miss most recently beat Norfolk State in the 2018 season opener, effectively handing coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin her first win as the Rebels coach.

Ole Miss' first win against a MEAC team was in 2002, when it defeated Morgan State, 91-47.

LAST TIME OUT
In its home season opener, No. 19/21 Ole Miss had no mercy for Arkansas-Pine Bluff, earning an 84-24 victory at the SJB Pavilion.

Once again, the Rebels were led by KK Deans, who tallied 16 points and seven rebounds on the day. Alongside Deans, Christeen Iwuala notched a career-high 12 points after shooting 5-for-7 from the field. Kharyssa Richardson added 11 rebounds, including 10 defensive boards to assist the Rebels to a victory.

RECORD BREAKING REBS
Ole Miss showed up and showed out in its first win of the 2024-25 season, allowing the fewest points in program history as it kept Arkansas-Pine Bluff to just 24 points. Yolett McPhee-McCuin's teams now hold three of the top five spots with the fewest points allowed in Ole Miss history, including spots one and two.

DEFENSE GETS DUBS
Ole Miss' first win of the season was a convincing one. By defeating UAPB by 61 points, it ties the third-widest win margin in program history. It's only the fifth instance of an Ole Miss team reaching the +60 mark, and is the largest margin in the McPhee-McCuin era.

Ole Miss rejected 12 shots as a team, which is a tie for the third-most in a game in program history, the last time of which came last season against Florida. Christeen Iwuala led the Rebels in that category, blocking a career-high four shots.

UAPB failed to get a single player in double-digits, the first time an Ole Miss team has done that since the 2022-23 season against Alabama A&M.

GOING DEEP
Running 13 players deep against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, proved that the Rebel bench will be a key factor throughout the year.

The Ole Miss bench accounted for 45 points against the Golden Lions, with half of the Rebels coming off the bench adding five or more points.

PROBLEMATIC IN THE PAINT
The Rebels made themseleves comfortable in the interior during their first two games of the season, racking up at least 18 more points in the paint than both opponents. Ole Miss notched 38 points in the paint against No. 3 Southern California and 34 versus Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Anchored by the presence of Starr Jacobs, Christeen Iwuala, Madison Scott, and Kharyssa Richardson, the Rebels look to continue its damage in the paint as the season progresses.

DICTATE AND DISRUPT
The motto of "We Defend" remains the same during the 2024-25 season, as Ole Miss once again reinforced the message against USC.

Holding the Trojans to just one three pointer off of 11 attempts (.091), Ole Miss forced USC to tally its' lowest three-point percentage since the 2021-22 season when Tameiya Sadler and Colorado held the Trojans to .083 from the arc.

The Rebels currently rank fifth in the nation and first in the SEC in three point percentage defense.

Additionally, Ole Miss forced USC to make 26 turnovers, tallying the most the Trojans have committed since 2022.

MY OH MADI
The development of Madison Scott since her arrival on campus has been undeniable, as the First Team All-SEC honoree has stepped up her game to become an all around player for the Rebels.

Drilling two three-pointers in the opening game of the season, Scott doubled her career makes from the arc after strengthening her skillset in the offseason. With the ability to play in all five positions on the floor, the fifth-year senior will undoubtfully go down as one of the most touted and versatile student-athletes in Ole Miss history.

RETURNING *ALMOST* HOME
Sitting just over 100 miles from Madison Scott's hometown in Indian Head, Md., the Rebels will  travel to Dover, Del. for its first true road game of the year.

Scott and the Rebels are expected to boast a large crowd of supporters, as this game is the closest Ole Miss has geographically played to her home since the senior arrived to Oxford five years ago.

RANKED REBS
For the past three years, Ole Miss has put the nation on notice and this season is no exception. The Rebels commenced the season ranked in both the preseason AP Poll and USA Today Coaches Poll for the second consecutive year. Prior to last season, this recognition had not happened since 1995.

In the AP Poll, Ole Miss recently came in at No. 19, moving up one slot from last week.

Additionally, Ole Miss earned a spot in the USA Today Coaches Poll, claiming the No. 21 spot.

TWO WINS AWAY...
The seventh-year coach of the Rebels is two wins away from reaching the 200 mark in her career. In her five seasons at Jacksonville State, Yolett McPhee-McCuin amassed a record of 94-63 then later stringing together 104 wins and counting at Ole Miss.
