OLE MISS VS. BOSTON COLLEGE
The Continental Tire Baha Mar Championship will host the first contest between Ole Miss and Boston College. This is the second time this season that Ole Miss has faced an opponent for the first time in its 50-year history, the other being against USC at the Aflac Oui-Play.

BC is a member of the ACC conference and went 14-19 under head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee last season.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Joanna Bernabei-McNamee heads Boston College in her seventh season. The Eagles are 6-1 to start the season. BC's only loss this year came to Harvard.

Similar to the Rebels, the Eagles excel at causing turnovers for their opposition. BC is first in the ACC in turnovers forced per game and second in turnover margin. Graduate guard Dontavia Waggoner is third in the ACC and 17th in the NCAA with 17 steals to start the season.

BC is home to four double figure scorers in Waggoner, Andrea Daley, T'Yana Todd and Teya Sidberry. Waggoner leads the Eagles with 14.3 points per game paired with 4.1 rebounds per contest. Daley and Sidberry shoulder the load off the glass, averaging over six rebounds a game each.

REBELS AGAINST THE ACC
The Rebels are 15-18 overall against ACC opponents. Ole Miss has faced Miami (Fla.) the most and hold a 3-4 record against the Hurricanes.  Ole Miss competed against Louisville last season for its only matchup against the ACC, losing to the Cardinals, 64-58.

A win against the Eagles would mark the first victory against an ACC opponent since beating Georgia Tech, 63-48, on March 22, 2015. The Rebels are 1-3 in the last four matchups agains ACC opponents.

This matchup against Boston College is the first of two matchups against the ACC this season for Ole Miss. The Rebels will take on NC State on Dec. 5 for the SEC/ACC Challenge.

LAST TIME OUT
In front of a packed Kids Day crowd, Ole Miss women's basketball overpowered Jackson State, 76-44, at the SJB Pavilion.

Offensively, Sira Thienou had a career high 16 points in the victory. The freshman phenom scored 13 points against Delaware State last time out but came back for more. She led the team in points for the first time in her career and has double-digit point totals in back-to-back games.

KK Deans joined Thienou in the double-digit scoring category with her third game of the season with 10 points or more. Scott scored nine, barely missing out on double digits, but made up for it with five assists, all coming in the second half.

200 AND COUNTING
The seventh-year coach of the Rebels achieved a feat many coaches strive to reach, earning her 200th win in her career. In her five seasons at Jacksonville State, Yolett McPhee-McCuin amassed a record of 94-63 and now has strung together 106 wins and counting at Ole Miss.

STOLE THE SHOW
In typical Coach Yo fashion, Ole Miss toyed with Jackson State on Kids Day, forcing 29 turnovers and stealing the ball 20 times. It marks the most steals in a single game since securing 24 against Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 28, 2016.

Seven players had multiple steals while four starters in Starr Jacobs, Sira Thienou, KK Deans and Kennedy Todd-Williams recorded three.

THE FRESHMAN PHENOM
Against Jackson State, freshman guard Sira Thienou achieved a career-high 16 points in the Kids Day victory. She led the team in points for the first time in her young career and had double-digit point totals in back-to-back games after tallying 13 versus Delaware State.

Thienou accompanies some pretty good company in her successes as the last time an Ole Miss freshman had 16-plus points was when Madison Scott earned 17 against No. 18 Arkansas, on Feb. 19, 2021.

TURNOVERS ON TURNOVERS ON TURNOVERS
Ole Miss' defense remains its strung suit, forcing its first four opponents of the year to make 20+ turnovers, including 29 against Jackson State.

The Rebels turned defense into offense all night versus the Lady Tigers, scoring a season-high 33 points off of JSU's turnovers.

On the other side of the court, Ole Miss played its cleanest game of the season against Delaware State, giving up only six turnovers to hold a -17 turnover margin after forcing the Hornets to lose the ball 23 times.

DIME DROPPIN' AND NOT STOPPIN'
Sharing is truly caring and against Delaware State, Ole Miss dished out 21 assists on 33 made field goals. KK Deans led the Rebels with seven helpers, followed by Kennedy Todd-Williams with five. Six Rebels contributed in total.

RECORD BREAKING REBS
Ole Miss showed up and showed out in its first win of the 2024-25 season, allowing the fewest points in program history as it kept Arkansas-Pine Bluff to just 24 points. Yolett McPhee-McCuin's teams now hold three of the top five spots with the fewest points allowed in Ole Miss history, including spots one and two.

DEFENSE GETS DUBS
Ole Miss' first win of the season was a convincing one. By defeating UAPB by 61 points, it ties the third-widest win margin in program history. It's only the fifth instance of an Ole Miss team reaching the +60 mark, and is the largest margin in the McPhee-McCuin era.

Ole Miss rejected 12 shots as a team, which is a tie for the third-most in a game in program history, the last time of which came last season against Florida. Christeen Iwuala led the Rebels in that category, blocking a career-high four shots.

UAPB failed to get a single player in double-digits, the first time an Ole Miss team has done that since the 2022-23 season against Alabama A&M.

GOING DEEP
Running 13 players deep against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, proved that the Rebel bench will be a key factor throughout the year.

The Ole Miss bench accounted for 45 points against the Golden Lions, with half of the Rebels coming off the bench adding five or more points.

PROBLEMATIC IN THE PAINT
The Rebels made themselves comfortable in the interior during their first two games of the season, racking up at least 18 more points in the paint than both opponents. Ole Miss notched 38 points in the paint against No. 3 Southern California and 34 versus Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Anchored by the presence of Starr Jacobs, Christeen Iwuala, Madison Scott, and Kharyssa Richardson, the Rebels look to continue its damage in the paint as the season progresses.

DICTATE AND DISRUPT
The motto of "We Defend" remains the same during the 2024-25 season, as Ole Miss once again reinforced the message against USC.

Holding the Trojans to just one three-pointer off of 11 attempts (.091), Ole Miss forced USC to tally its' lowest three-point percentage since the 2021-22 season when Tameiya Sadler and Colorado held the Trojans to .083 from the arc.

Additionally, Ole Miss forced USC to make 26 turnovers, tallying the most the Trojans have committed since 2022.

BOUNCE BACK
KK Deans rejoins the Rebels for her sixth season of collegiate ball after medically redshirting last season. While healing from a season-ending ACL injury, Deans showed tenacity and toughness as a leader on the bench, helping to guide the Rebels to their successful season.

Though she only appeared in six games in 2023-24, she started in all of them and averaged almost 10 points a game and 3.8 assists. Deans put up a season-best 16 points against Temple, where she also registered seven rebounds and eight assists.

Through four games of the 2024-25 season, has taken her game to the next level, leading the Rebels in points per game (12.8) and three-pointers made (11). Deans will look to continue improving in her final year of eligibility.
