OXFORD, Miss. – The No. 30 Ole Miss women's tennis team fell short against No. 18 South Carolina 1-6.
The Rebels (10-6, 4-4 SEC) faced a tough matchup in doubles on all three courts, with nail-biting finishes, but ultimately lost the point heading into singles.
Emma Kette on court five secured another win with a 6-3, 6-1 victory. This marks a 6-1 SEC record for the sophomore this year. The Germany native continues to surpass her win total from her first year at Ole Miss, notching her 14th overall on the season
Anaelle Leclercq-Ficher forced yet another third set after dropping the first 1-6 when she came back 6-0. Unfortunately, Leclercq-Ficher dropped the final go-around, which added another point for South Carolina (13-5, 5-4).
Four more Rebels also fell short on their respective courts.
Ole Miss will head to Gainesville, Florida, to face the Gators on Sunday, March 31, at 12 p.m.
