Men's Tennis Set for Final Conference Matchup Versus Alabama

OXFORD, Miss. - An exciting final weekend of conference play awaits the Ole Miss men's tennis team as the Rebels are set to face off against their final SEC opponent this week on the road. 
 
The Rebels (10-13, 2-9 SEC) will square off against SEC foe, No. 22 Alabama (15-11, 4-6 SEC) in Tuscaloosa on Friday, April 12 at 4 pm C.T.
 
Live scoring and live video for both matches will be available to the public. Links to both can be found above as well as on the Ole Miss men's tennis schedule page. 
 
REBELS IN THE RANKINGS
As conference play wraps up this weekend, Ole Miss currently sits at No. 60 in this week's ITA team rankings. Holding down the solo individual ranking for the Rebels is No. 50 Nikola Slavic. Slavic boasts an impressive 18-7 season record in singles and will look to improve his conference record this weekend against Alabama. As for doubles, Lukas Engelhardt pairs with Slavic to hold down the doubles ranking for Ole Miss at No. 68. The senior duo has a 20-14 record on the season. 
 
WRAPPING UP ON THE ROAD
After two hard fought battles against the 38-ranked Georgia Bulldogs and No. 6 Tennessee Volunteers, Ole Miss looks to a new week of opportunity to secure a final conference win against No. 22 Alabama on Friday. 
 
SENIOR SPIRIT
Lukas Engelhardt earned a senior Sunday win against Tennessee's Nicolas Kobelt this last weekend. In an exciting three set match that saw two go into the tiebreaker, Engelhardt came out victorious earning a point for the Rebels. The Augsburg, Germany native fought hard to obtain the 6-4, 6-7 (6-8), 7-6 (9-7) win over his opponent to conclude his final match in Oxford. 
 
SCHLAGENHAUF STRIKES AGAIN
Sophomore sensation Noah Schlagenhauf secured the second point on the board for the Rebels on Sunday. Schlagenhauf showed off his elite competitive spirit once again through three sets to win a nail-biter tiebreaker, 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 (2). This win improved Schlagenhauf's overall singles season record to 13-8. 
 
TEAM PROFILE: ALABAMA
In George Husack's 12th season as head coach at Alabama, the Crimson Tide have two top 55 ranked tandems in their lineup. The No. 46 ranked duo of Zach Foster and Enzo Aguiard have a 12-10 overall doubles record while the 53rd-ranked pair of Fillip Planinsek and Andrii Zimnokh boast an impressive 18-12 overall doubles record. As for singles, Planinsek is individually ranked No. 45 and has strung together an overall 18-12 singles record for the year.
