SAN ANTONIO, Texas – It's well known that the Rebel reach extends way beyond Oxford, as Ole Miss women's basketball assistant coach Empress Davenport returns to her home state to speak at the 2024 Texas High School Coaches Association Convention on Tuesday, July 23.

Davenport will spend time presenting an on-court session about player development as well as answering questions from attendees and is the first SEC women's basketball coach to participate. The Duncanville, Texas native enters her first season as an assistant coach with the Rebels following three seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at UTSA.

As a player from 2012-16 at Texas, Davenport reached three NCAA Tournaments while averaging 7.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per game during her career for the Longhorns. After her playing days in Austin, Davenport played one season professionally overseas in Sweden before returning to the United States to embark on her coaching career.
