PIEŠT'ANY, Slovakia — Ole Miss women's basketball continues to go global, with Rebel alum Rita Igbokwe signing her first professional contract, heading to Slovakia to play for the Piešťany Čajky.

Igbokwe heads to Europe to join the team in the Slovak league, the highest level of competition in the country. The Čajky, also known as the Seagulls, has taken two titles in the Slovak Women's Basketballl Extraliga in 2022 and 2023.

A force during her two seasons donning a Rebel uniform, Igbokwe was a key presence on the inside for Ole Miss and head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin. This past season, Igbokwe rejected a team-best 54 blocks as Ole Miss went on to break the single-season record with a total of 190 as a team. She holds the No. 2 spot in single-game blocks, setting a career-best at Arkansas-Pine Bluff with a total of eight rejections.
