No. 4 Men’s Golf Set for Title Defense at Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational

BILOXI, Miss. – The No. 4 Ole Miss men's golf team looks to defend its title at the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational Oct. 18-20, at the Beau Rivage Fallen Oak Course. This year's field features six teams ranked inside the GCAA top 25. The Rebels will co-host the tournament alongside Southern Miss and Mississippi State.

BEHIND THE ARCHITECTURE
Fallen Oak is located 15 miles north of Beau Rivage on a 510-acre tract in Biloxi, Mississippi. The course runs adjacent to the DeSoto National Forest. Fallen Oak is characterized by a lush, rolling landscape covered in oak and pine ridges, magnolias, pecan groves, large lakes, winding streams and wetlands. The Tom Fazio-designed Fallen Oak opened in 2006 to rave reviews and debuted at No. 19 on Golf Digest's America's 100 Greatest Public Courses. Golfweek consistently ranks Fallen Oak the best golf course "you can play" in Mississippi and for the 19th straight year, has named it the No. 2 Casino Course in the country, behind only sister-course Shadow Creek.

Ole Miss tallied its third top three finish of the fall at the Hamptons Intercollegiate. The Rebels finished at (865, +1) with three players placing inside the top 14. Cameron Tankersley would lead the way in a tie for second.
DEFEND THE CHIP
Ole Miss looks to go back-to-back at Fallen Oak after capturing the title in 2024. The Rebels posted (844, -20) with four players finishing inside the top 10. The Rebels began the day with a four-stroke lead and picked up right where they left off in round two, tallying a final round score of 281 (-7) to win the tournament by nine strokes.
The win last season capped off a historic fall run where the Rebels finished inside the top two in all four fall events. The win also propelled Ole Miss to its first No. 1 ranking in program history on Oct. 23, 2024.
WINNERS IN CHATTANOOGA
Ole Miss swept the field taking home their first team and individual title of the season at The Invitational at the Honors Course. The Rebels posted (854, -10) and Cameron Tankersley earned medalist honors in his first collegiate win.
Tankersley, the overnight leader began his final round at six-under and shot even par 72 to secure the win. Needing par at the 18th, Tankersley calmly stepped over a five-footer and sank the putt. The tournament sweep was the 10th of the Chris Malloy era and the fourth win in the last 11 regular season events.
2024-25 REWIND
The Rebels enter 2025-26 after arguably the best and most decorated season in program history. Ole Miss earned its first No. 1 ranking on October 23, 2024, and received its first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament in program history. The Rebels finished as semifinalists at the 2025 NCAA Championships at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa, in Carlsbad, California.
The team claimed three team titles in 2024-25, the most wins since 2016-17. Michael La Sasso and Tom Fischer both tallied their first individual collegiate wins, and six players finished inside the top five at least once. The group set a program record for the most team rounds under par in a single season and the most team rounds of par or better at 26. The Rebels finished inside the top five nine times, the most since 1984-85.
THE FAB FOUR
Ole Miss returns the foursome of Tom Fischer, Michael La Sasso, Cameron Tankersley and Cohen Trolio. All four seniors are ranked inside the top 60 of the World Amateur Golf Rankings and the top 21 of the PGA TOUR University rankings. The group looks to lead Ole Miss back to postseason golf for the ninth straight season.
YOUNG AND HUNGRY
Jacob Blanton and Collins Trolio round out the returners from the 2024-25 roster. Blanton took a redshirt his freshman year and looks to make an impact in year two with the Rebels. Collins Trolio made seven individual starts last year and showed promise as a sophomore. Trolio is the younger brother of Cohen as the two get to compete for the same program for the second straight year.
Finn Meister and Daniel Tolf were the 2025 signees Chris Malloy and Emerson Newsome tabbed from the high school ranks. Meister was the No. 2 recruit out of the state of Arizona by Junior Golf Scoreboard and competed in the 2024 Korn Ferry event - The Ascendant presented by Blue. Tolf hails from Gothenburg, Sweden and is quite the stature for an 18-year-old freshman. The lengthy hitter tallied three wins and 19 top 10 finishes prior to arriving in Oxford.
