Men’s Tennis Set to Host Multi-Match Weekend Against Nebraska and Alcorn State

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss men's tennis will welcome Nebraska on Friday, Feb. 14 and Alcorn State on Sunday, Feb 16 to the William F. Galtney Indoor Tennis Center for a multi-match event weekend.
To kick off play, the Rebels will host the Cornhuskers in Oxford on Friday at 12:00 p.m. CT. Ole Miss will then be back in action on Sunday to host Alcorn State for a doubleheader event. The first match against the Braves will begin at 1:00 p.m. CT with the second match to follow at 6:00 p.m. CT.

THE REBELS
Dakotah Bobo (Jr.) - Lafayette, Louisiana
-Undefeated 3-0 in singles on the 2025 season
-Defeated Fernando Bulnes and Mario Monclus Martin (EKU) 7-6 (7-3) with partner Noah Schlagenhauf to notch first doubles win in the spring season
-Secured the first point for the Rebels on the singles courts against Memphis, 7-6 (7-3)
-Has won all singles matchups in straight sets
Matthieu Chambonniere (Fr.) - Paris, Île-de-France
-Named the Houndstooth Draw doubles champions at the SEC Challenge with doubles partner Benjamin Martin
-Began the 2025 spring season 5-0 on the singles courts

-Earned a straight set, 6-3, 6-1, win over Christian Cantos Siemers in his collegiate dual match debut against Eastern Kentucky
-Was one of five Rebels to represent Ole Miss at the ITA Southern Regional in the fall
Kai Milburn (Fr.) - Queenstown, New Zealand
-Has earned three tournament ITF titles in singles, earning victories in the J60 Christchurch, J60 Wellington and J100 Auckland
-Represented New Zealand during last year's Davis Cup
-Went 2-0 in singles in his collegiate debut with the Rebels
-Defeated Asaf Friedler and Vincent Vohl 6-4 with partner Marcel Kamrowski to earn his first doubles win as a Rebel
Noah Schlagenhauf (Jr.) - Nuertingen, Germany
-Ranked No. 101 in latest ITA singles rankings
-Advanced to the qualifying round of the ITA-All Americans in the fall
-Qualified for the fall ITA Sectionals in Tallahassee, Fla.
-Defeated No. 84 Dimitris Paliouras, 6-4, 6-4, in win over Georgia Southern
Isac Strömberg (Jr.) - Stockholm, Sweden
-Defeated Adrian Contreras (EKU), 6-3, 6-1, to open the 2025 spring season
-Bested Alabama's No. 62 Andrii Zimnokh, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 in the fall season to earn his first ranked win of the 2024-25 season
-Etched two doubles victories with partner Gordon Whitwell in the fall slate
-Holds a 4-0 singles record in the spring campaign
Gordon Whitwell (Jr.) - Oxford, Mississippi
-Defeated Ryan Kitchin and Adrian Contreras (EKU) 6-2 with partner Isac Stromberg to open junior year spring season
-Secured his first singles win of the spring season over Eastern Kentucky's Darko Kolevski, 6-1, 6-4
-Has secured three wins on the doubles courts with partner Isac Stromberg
-Advanced to the doubles round of 16 at the ITA Southern Regional in the fall season
REBS ARE ROLLING
The Ole Miss men's tennis team remains undefeated on the season after taking down the Belmont Bruins, 5-2, at the William F. Galtney Indoor Tennis Center last weekend. After securing the doubles point, the back courts led the way for another Ole Miss win over Belmont (2-5, 0-0 MVC), with courts three through six securing victories over their opponents in singles.
The Rebels win over the Bruins moved Ole Miss' record to 6-0 on the season. If Ole Miss can notch their seventh win over Nebraska on Friday, it will mark the first time the Rebels have begun a spring season 7-0 since the 2021-22 season.
TEAM PROFILE: NEBRASKA
Peter Kobelt is in his first official season at the helm of the Nebraska Cornhuskers men's tennis program. Kobelt served as the interim head coach this past season, leading the 2023-24 team to a 17-10 record. Calvin Mueller is the most notable returner for the Big Red. Mueller boasted a 27-12 singles record in the 2024 spring season. Mueller pairs up with teammate Lars Johann to make the Cornhuskers number one duo.
TEAM PROFILE: ALCORN STATE
Stas Smirnov enters his first season as head coach of the Alcorn State's men's tennis program. Prior to Alcorn State, Stas served as an assistant coach at New Mexico State University. Alcorn State is currently 3-7 on the season and is led by David Leon who boasts a 5-12 record on the singles courts. Leon has also tallied an 8-13 doubles record with various partners.

Ole Miss will be providing a lot of exciting promotions for fans in attendance all season long. For this weekend's matchup against Nebraska, the Rebel's will be handing out Valentine's day treats and there will be a food giveaway for the doubleheader on Sunday.
NEW TO THE TENNIS CENTER
Fans are now permitted to bring personal coolers with a maximum size of 20 quarts and no glass bottles. Age verification screening will be instituted at entry for fans who bring coolers with alcohol. Concessions will not be offered at tennis matches as a result.
