Senior Season: Women’s Basketball’s Fantastic Five to be Honored Against Missouri

2/21/2025 | Women's Basketball

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss women’s basketball will extend its gratitude to five graduating seniors at its next home game against Missouri on Feb. 23.

KK Deans, Starr Jacobs, Tameiya Sadler and Kennedy Todd-Williams are all set to walk the graduation stage, each with their own unique stories of how they made names for themselves as Rebels. Madison Scott, one of the most prolific Rebels in program history, was recognized in last season’s senior day, therefore will not be walking against the Tigers, but will still briefly be recognized prior to the others.

This years’ senior class has led Ole Miss to a 17-8 overall and 8-5 SEC record. The group has helped Ole Miss reach new heights and personally helped rewrite the program record books. This season, Ole Miss set the school record for widest margin of victory with a 65-point gap over Alabama State. Against Alcorn State, Ole Miss shot 67.3 percent from the field to set the program record. On two occasions, the Rebels held their opponents to only 24 points, the fewest allowed by a Rebel squad in program history.

Deans spent two seasons in Oxford, where she established herself as a leader on and off the court. During her first season at Ole Miss, Deans missed 27 games last season after tearing her ACL for the second time. While rehabbing, Deans remained an active voice on the court for the Rebels. Head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin tabbed Deans as a “coach” at the SEC Tipoff ’25 prior to the start of the season.

Since returning to the lineup in 2024-25, Deans has averaged 8.9 points per game on nine starts. In her first game back from the injury, she popped off for 19 points at the Aflac Oui-Play in Paris, leading the team. A prolific passer, Deans has had four games of five or more assists, including a season-high seven against UAPB. She’s ninth among active SEC players in career assists with 426 entering the Missouri matchup.

She’s coming off an Ole Miss career best performance against Tennessee, where she led the team in scoring once again with 22 points. She made six 3-pointers, which is the most by a Rebel since Deja Cage hit that many on Feb. 27, 2020. Two games before, she eclipsed the 1,500-career point mark in Ole Miss’ upset over No. 8 Kentucky.

A pair of first-year transfers are set to get recognized in Jacobs and Sadler. Jacobs, the 6-foot-1 forward from Dallas, Texas, has paced the team in rebounds all season. She’s registered four games of 10-plus rebounds and has gotten at least five rebounds in 20 games. She’s had the most double doubles this season by any Rebel with three, putting her at 29 for her overall career.

Jacobs’ most recent double-double came against No. 23 Vanderbilt, in a game where she was truly unguardable. She went 12-13 from the court for a season-high 24 points as the Rebels upset the Commodores. She brought in five rebounds on the offensive and defensive each for 10 total.

The Arkansas-Pine Bluff transfer has started every game this season and recorded 93 offensive rebounds for Ole Miss this season. It leads the team and is second in the SEC with a 3.72 per game average. Defensively, Jacobs’ aggressive style of guarding the paint has resulted in 1.84 steals per game, which ranks 11th in the conference. Career-wise, her 203 career steals are the most among active Rebels and eighth among all SEC competitors.

Sadler has made several positive contributions to Ole Miss in her lone season as a Rebel. She’s turned a corner in SEC play, however, reaching double-figure scoring totals four times. She led the team in points for the first time this season against Arkansas, when she scored a season-high 17 points off the bench. She tied a career-high three triples in that game.

A pesky defender, Sadler has registered multiple steals in 12 games this season, including five against Florida. She opened the season recording at least two steals in seven of the first nine games of the season.

Like Deans, Sadler is a high-quality passer who’s led the team in assists on six occasions. She tied a career-high with eight assists against South Alabama. Eight assists are still the most by any Rebel in a single game this season. Sadler has made 18 starts this season, with Ole Miss claiming victory in 13 of those games.

Fan-favorite Todd-Williams is wrapping up her second season in Oxford. In her time as a Rebel, Todd-Williams scored over 600 points, dished out more than 150 assists and hauled in nearly 300 rebounds. She’s on pace to have her best statistical season at Ole Miss this year, having already set a new personal single season assist record.

Todd-Williams set a career-high 25 points this season in the first game against Vanderbilt. She made five threes that day, which is also a career best mark. One of the most consistent scorers on the team, Todd-Williams averages 11.4 points per game, which is second highest on the team. She’s recorded double-digit scoring in 16 games this season, also second most on the team.

Todd-Williams joined the 1,500-career point club on Jan. 26 when Ole Miss faced Texas. She was the second player this season to reach that accolade, following Scott and preceded by Deans. The Jacksonville, N.C., native is one of the best free throw shooters in the SEC, ranking seventh in the SEC with an 82.6 percent mark. She went a perfect 11-for-11 from the charity stripe against Auburn, marking the second time she’s knocked down 10-or-more free throws in a single game as a Rebel.

Show up early to celebrate the seniors of Team 50 as they take on Missouri on Feb. 23. Tipoff against the Tigers is slated for 2 p.m. and will be broadcast on SEC Network.
