WEST POINT, Miss. – Day one of the 2025 Old Waverly Collegiate Championship saw the No. 3 Ole Miss men's golf team shatter multiple team and individual records. Through 36 holes of play, the Rebels sit at (536, -40) and are in firm control atop the leaderboard with all six players inside the top 11.

Round one went about as good as it could have for Ole Miss. Their first-round score of (265, -23) marked the lowest team single round score in Old Waverly tournament history. Tom Fischer shot (-7, 65) making him the solo leader after 18 holes. He tied the third-lowest individual round in OWCC history and tied for the best opening round score since 2017.

Cohen Trolio who has played Old Waverly Golf Club since his youthful days carded a bogey-free (-6, 66). He would make four birdies on his front nine and eagled the par 5 15th to shoot two-under on his second nine.

Michael La Sasso and Kye Meeks each shot (-5, 67) and were tied for third after round one. They would both eagle the par 5 15th. The round of 67 gave La Sasso his 14th round in the 60s on the season, tying him with former Rebel and PGA Tour player Johnathan Randolph for the third most rounds in the 60s in a single season.

Cameron Tankersley would shoot (-3, 69) in his opening round, placing him tied for 10th.

Collins Trolio who is competing as an individual for Ole Miss this week would tie his career-low 18-hole score with an opening round of 67. Much like his older brother having course knowledge, Trolio would tally the fourth eagle in the first round by a Rebel on No. 9.

The score of 265 set the second lowest total for a single round in program history. In total, Ole Miss made 33 birdies and four eagles in the first round giving them a 12-shot cushion heading into round two.

The Rebels would continue their scorching pace in the second round, shooting (271, -17), increasing their lead to 25-strokes. Kye Meeks had the low round for Ole Miss with a (-6, 66).

Tom Fischer had it all working on Monday at Old Waverly as he would shoot (-5, 67) in round two, getting him to 12 under-par for the tournament. Fischer sits alone atop the leaderboard after 36 holes with his teammates chasing behind him.

Meeks climbed to solo second with his 66 Monday afternoon. The Magnolia State native would shoot five-under 31 on his first nine, propelling him to 11 under-par for the tournament.

Michael La Sasso sits tied for third at 10 under-par after another (-5, 67). He would card his second eagle of the day on No. 9 and now has 15 rounds in the 60s this season. The 15 rounds gives him sole possession of third in program history for the most rounds in the 60s in a single season.

The duo of Cohen and Collins Trolio both turned in scores of even-par in round two. Cohen sits tied for fifth at six under-par and Collins sits just behind him at five-under, tied for seventh.

Cameron Tankersley recorded his second straight round in red figures with a one-under 71. He sits in 12th place at four-under par.

All six Rebels competing this week sit inside the top 11 heading into tomorrow's final round. Cameron Tankersley will be the first off for Ole Miss tomorrow at 9:40 a.m. CT with each Rebel following in 10-minute increments.
