Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan Maintains Dominance, Completes Yet Another SEC Sweep

5/16/2025 | Track and Field

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Ole Miss track & field star junior and three-time reigning NCAA shot put champion Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan tallied another conference title for his collection, winning the men's shot put to close out Day Two of the 2025 SEC Outdoor Championships on Friday.

Robinson-O'Hagan – who yesterday won by 24 feet in the men's hammer – had a tighter competition on Friday, but was still able to pull out his ninth career conference victory on a fourth-round toss of 20.68m/67-10.25.

This marks the second consecutive outdoor sweep of the shot put and hammer for Robinson-O'Hagan, who joins Georgia's Denzel Comenentia (2017, '18) and Auburn's Cory Martin (2007, '08) as the lone athletes in SEC history to sweep those events at the same conference meet. Furthermore, this adds on to Robinson-O'Hagan's legacy as the lone athlete in conference history to sweep the indoor shot and weight throw, let alone twice in row in 2024 and 2025, and let alone when combined with an outdoor sweep in the shot and hammer within the same season.

In now six career SEC meets, Robinson-O'Hagan owns an absurd 104 conference points scored (17.3 per meet) along with his nine titles in 13 attempts and his now four consecutive sweeps.
