Kid Coach is a partnership between Children's of Mississippi and the Ole Miss Rebels to salute pediatric patients. Their inspirational stories remind us just how truly courageous these young people are.

This week's Children's of Mississippi Kid Coach is Journey Cummins of Kosciusko.

When she was just 8 months old, Journey was diagnosed with a type of kidney cancer, a stage 3 Wilms tumor. Her treatment involved surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. During her course of treatment at Children's of Mississippi, Journey got to wear a Halloween costume provided by child life specialists and also had a visit from Santa while she was in the pediatric intensive care unit. She even got to be in a commercial!

But the best thing about her treatment was that it made all the difference. Next month will mark eight years of Journey being cancer free!

Now 9 years old, and turning 10 in July, Journey is always smiling and never meets a stranger. She is a competition dancer and loves any kind of art form, including painting. She also loves to watch cheerleading and dance competitions.

Have fun at Friday's game, Journey. Your friends at Children's of Mississippi are cheering for you!
