Five More Rebels Selected on Day Two of 2026 MLB Draft

PHILADELPHIA – Five more Ole Miss baseball players heard their names called on day two of the 2026 Major League Baseball Draft. With the draft now complete Ole Miss had eight total players selected in the draft, giving them three-straight seasons with seven or more draftees.
Wil Libbert was selected in the fifth round by the Atlanta Braves as the 144th overall pick in the draft. Landon Koenig was taken by the New York Mets in the eighth round as the 240th overall pick in the draft. Landon Waters was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 17th round as the 522nd overall pick.
Austin Fawley was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 19th round as the 562nd overall pick in the draft. JP Robertson was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 20th round as the 598th overall pick. They join Cade Townsend, Taylor Rabe, and Hudson Calhoun who were taken on day one.
Libbert appeared in 17 games for the Rebels in 2026, striking out 51 batters over 48 innings of work. He struck out seven hitters in each of his first two starts as a Rebel, helping lead Ole Miss to wins over Nevada and Missouri State. After moving to the bullpen, Libbert put up a solid outing against Florida where he struck out five batters over two innings of relief. In the final game of the Lincoln Regional, he worked three hitless innings against Arizona State to send the Rebels to Supers.
Koenig made 17 appearances for Ole Miss in 2026, posting a 3-1 record with 33 strikeouts over 22.2 innings. He earned his first win as a Rebel against Arkansas State, working two innings with a trio of strikeouts. He earned his first save as a Rebel against Missouri State by working 1.2 scoreless to close out the game. Koenig was the winning pitcher in the Rebels' thrilling win against Georgia, allowing no runs in two innings of work.
Waters made 24 appearances in relief for Ole Miss last season, posting a 3.00 ERA with two saves and 25 strikeouts over 24 innings of work. Waters earned a save in Ole Miss' win over Texas with a clean inning in the 11th. He worked two innings against Kentucky, striking out a season-high four batters and allowing no runs. Over two seasons as a Rebel, Waters appeared in 41 games, striking out 49 hitters over 42.2 innings.
Fawley played in 57 games for Ole Miss in 2026, finishing third on the team in slugging percentage (.489) and home runs (13). He was named to the 2026 Lincoln Regional All-Tournament Team after drawing five walks and hitting a double over three games. Fawley was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-South Region Team and the Oxford Regional All-Tournament Team in 2025. He is the only catcher in the Mike Bianco Era to hit 20+ home runs in a single season, hitting 21 in 2025. In two seasons at Ole Miss, Fawley played in 108 games, hitting .245 with 34 home runs and 93 RBI.
Robertson made 22 appearances in 2026 for Ole Miss, posting a record of 5-2 with 4.34 ERA and 49 strikeouts over 37.1 innings. He made his Division I debut against Arkansas State, striking out five batters over 2.1 innings. He made his first career start against Southern Miss, allowing just three hits and striking out five over three innings of work. Robertson earned the win in both the final game of the Lincoln Regional and the final game of the Auburn Super Regional, sending the Rebels to the next round in both outings.
