Walker Hooks Selected to 2026 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team

CARY, N.C. – USA Baseball today finalized the 28-man roster for the 2026 Collegiate National Team, selecting Ole Miss sophomore Walker Hooks to the team.
Hooks will be the 16th Rebel to ever compete for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. The first since Hunter Elliott and Jacob Gonzalez in 2022.
Hooks will compete with the 2026 Collegiate National Team in the inaugural World Collegiate Baseball Championship at Taichung City Intercontinental Baseball Stadium in Taichung City, Taiwan, from July 11-15. The roster was named after 11 days of workouts, practices, and intrasquad scrimmages across North Carolina and Virginia.
Hooks finished the 2026 season with a 3-1 record with nine saves, an ERA of 3.24, and 63 strikeouts over 58.1 innings. His nine saves were the most by a Rebel since Brandon Johnson had 12 in 2022.
Hooks finished the 2026 regular season leading the SEC in ERA (1.73), WHIP (0.80), and appearances (17) during conference play. He was also tied for the league lead in saves with seven. The big left-hander was also ranked second in fewest walks allowed (6) and tied for fifth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.00) in league games.
