OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's basketball team used a balanced attack to knock off Slovan Bratislava, 76-67, in their first exhibition contest of the season. Fourteen different Lady Rebels saw action, with 11 scoring in the game.

Freshman forward Tywanna Inmon came off the bench to lead the Lady Rebels with 15 points in her collegiate debut. Inmon, a West Memphis, Ark., native, made 7-of-11 shots and grabbed four rebounds in 18 minutes of action to pace Ole Miss.

"We came into this game wanting to play a lot of people a lot of minutes," said head coach Ron Aldy. "We wanted to use several different combinations to see what group was going to have the best chemistry."

The Lady Rebels out-rebounded Slovan Bratislava, 49-27, and forced 23 turnovers to hold off the visitors. Ole Miss made 31-of-77 shots from the field, including 5-of-21 from three-point range.

Junior center Saundra Jackson scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Ole Miss. Junior Von Kirk scored nine points, while junior TaShondrea Moton and sophomore Kayla Madewell added eight points a piece. Senior guard Chandra Dorsey led Ole Miss in assists with four, while only turning the ball over one time.

"I think the girls may have been a little nervous out there tonight," said Aldy. "We have certainly played much better in practice, but now that we have the first game out of the way we should not have to worry about nerves anymore.

"I thought we got some good play out of some of our newcomers," added Aldy. "I was very pleased with Tywanna and I thought Sherika (Wright) had some nice spurts. We did alright for our first game, but we will need to improve our defense on Sunday."

Ole Miss will return to action Sunday at 2 p.m. when they host the Houston Jaguars in their final exhibition game of the 2000-2001 season. The Lady Rebels season-opener is Friday, November 17. They will open the season against Radford in the first-round of the Vermont/Howard Bank Classic in Burlington, Vt.
