• Ole Miss is coming off a successful start to the outdoor season last week at the second edition of the Trailblazer Challenge at Miami on March 22-23. The Rebels finished fourth and fifth in the men's and women's team standings, respectively, but also recorded 14 performances that rank within the NCAA top-50 and 12 additional marks or times that currently sit within the NCAA East Region top-48.

WOMEN'S NOTES
• The Rebel women currently hold eight marks or times within the NCAA top-50 and eight additional performances sit within the NCAA East Region top-48 after one week of competition.

• Senior Lindsey Murray opened her final collegiate season with a win at the Trailblazer Challenge, clearing 4.15m (13-07.25) for the win while also taking a few solid attempts at 4.36m (14-03.50). Last season, Murray broke her own Ole Miss outdoor school record with a clearance of 4.35m (14-03.25) to earn her first career SEC medal.

• Freshman Tedreauna Britt impressed in her outdoor Rebel debut, taking third in the women's discus at a massive open of 53.45m (175-04) -- the fourth-best throw in school history, No. 17 in the NCAA and seventh in the East Region.

• Sophomore Shey Taiwo, a Second-Team All-American indoors in the weight throw, opened with a nine-foot PR of 61.25m (200-11) to place third in the hammer at the Trailblazer Challenge, improving on her place in third all-time at Ole Miss. Taiwo already ranks 22nd nationally and 12th in the East in the hammer, and she also ranks in the East Region top-48 in the shot put (35th, 14.69m/48-02.50) and discus (48th, 47.03m/154-03).

• Freshman Brandee Presley opened her first outdoor season at Ole Miss with two impressive performances in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. Presley holds the 43rd-best time in both the 100 (11.67) and 200 (23.88), both of which rank within the all-time top-15 at Ole Miss.

• Other Rebels currently in the NCAA top-50 include Maddie King (23rd, 1500-meter, 4:27.57), Orianna Shaw (42nd, 400-meter, 55.03) and Jayda Eckford (46th, 200-meter, 23.90).

Shelby Brown is the reigning SEC champion in the steeplechase. She owns the Ole Miss school record at 9:58.98.

• Freshman Lisa Vogelgesang, an NCAA East Region qualifier and IAAF World U20 finalist last summer, was the SEC runner-up in the steeplechase at the second-best time in school history at 10:06.00.

• Junior Kieshonna Brooks will look to improve her career-best in the heptathlon this outdoor season. Her PR of 5,338 ranks 33rd in the NCAA preseason rankings and stands as the national record of her native Saint Kitts & Nevis.

• The Rebel women are coming off a fifth-place finish at the SEC Outdoor Championships in 2018, the highest finish ever outdoors in Ole Miss women's history.

• Ole Miss returns three Second-Team All-Americans from 2018 (Shelby Brown, 3000-meter steeplechase; Lindsey Murray, pole vault; Jeanette Paul, 4x100-meter relay), as well as seven NCAA East Region qualifiers.

MEN'S NOTES
• The Rebel men currently hold six marks or times within the NCAA top-50 and four additional performances that sit within the NCAA East Region top-48.

• Sophomore Allen Gordon had a remarkable opening weekend in all three of his jumping events despite competing with a broken wrist. Gordon won the long jump at an outdoor wind-legal PR of 7.75m (25-05.25), while also finishing in the top-three in the high jump (2.12m/6-11.50) and triple jump (14.78m/48-06.00). Gordon ranks third in the NCAA in the long jump, seventh in the high jump and 46th in the triple jump.

• Sophomore Elijah Dryer had an excellent outdoor open last week as well, recording NCAA top-50 times in the 200-meter (24th, 21.07) and 100-meter (36th, 10.49).

• Pole vaulter Cole Colozzo set an outdoor career-best last week at 4.95m (16-02.75), currently the 39th-best height in the NCAA and 16th-best in the East Region.

• The Rebels scored five First-Team All-Americans at the NCAA Indoor Championships two weeks ago from the men's distance medley relay (Cade Bethmann, Andrew Raspo, Griffin Riley and Mario Garcia Romo) and Derek Gutierrez in the mile.

• The Rebels return Honorable Mention All-Americans Parker Scott (3000-meter steeplechase) and Everett Smulders (1500-meter) from last outdoor season, as well as nine total NCAA East Region qualifiers.

• Sophomore Waleed Suliman entered with the NCAA's eighth-best 1500-meter time (3:39.76) and the 12th-best 800-meter time (1:47.29). Suliman set the school record indoors in the mile at 3:56.78.

• Ole Miss head coach Connie Price-Smith is in her fourth season. Price-Smith, who was the head women's coach for Team USA at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, is in her 18th season overall as a head coach.

• In four seasons at Ole Miss, Price-Smith has already mentored seven NCAA champions, 61 First or Second-Team All-Americans, 29 SEC Champions and several of the highest SEC and national team finishes ever at Ole Miss -- including the highest SEC Outdoor finish ever for the women in fifth place in 2018.

• Price-Smith's coaching staff all returns as well, with associate head coach Andre Scott (jumps, women's multis), assistant coach Anthony Acklin (sprints, hurdles), assistant coach Brian Porter (pole vault, javelin, men's multis), assistant coach John Smith (throws) and director of operations Sasha Leeth all returning for their fourth seasons at Ole Miss, with associate head coach Ryan Vanhoy (distance) entering his sixth year as a Rebel.
