FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Ole Miss track & field put some solid work in during one of its last regular season meets, posting several season and personal bests at Arkansas' John McDonnell Invitational on Friday.
Sophomore Logan Kelley posted the top finish of the day for the Rebels, taking runner-up honors in the men's pole vault. For the second meet in a row, Kelley tied his outdoor career-best at 5.15m/16-10.75, which ranks No. 8 in Ole Miss history. Junior Drew O'Connor also cleared that height for third place on total misses, and was followed by Miles Walden in fifth at a season-best 5.00m/16-04.75, Frankie Amore in sixth at 4.80m/15-9, and Ford Maberry in a tie for seventh at a season-best 4.80m/15-9.
Earlier in the women's pole vault, freshman Mary Cate Doughty was the top Rebel following another career day. Doughty finished fourth at an overall PR height of 3.96m/12-11.75, moving her to No. 11 in Ole Miss history.
Ole Miss also received two PRs on the track, courtesy of junior Ryan Star in the men's 100-meter dash (fifth, 10.52/+0.9) and sophomore Laurel Fulcher in the women's 200-meter dash (30th, 25.18/+1.6). Fulcher had a busy day at the track, as she also notched a season-best in the 100-meter hurdles (15th, 15.33/-0.7) and nearly hit a new PR in the long jump as well (13th, 5.40m/17-08.75).
Other notable performances on Friday included a wind-legal PR by Pierce Genereux in the men's 110-meter hurdles (23rd, 15.88/+0.6) and a season-best by LaRiah Shannon in the high jump (T-11th, 1.60m/5-3).
