Kentucky finished 7-6 last season for its seventh winning record in the past eight seasons, going 3-5 in SEC play. The Wildcats started 5-0, including a 45-28 win in their 2023 SEC road opener at Vanderbilt. UK lost five of six down the stretch in SEC play, notching only one league win over Mississippi State once the calendar turned to October. Three Players to Watch: Ole Miss
- Jaxson Dart – Dart is amid the best start by an SEC quarterback since Kentucky legend Tim Couch in 1998. Can the stingy Wildcat defense quiet the Rebel air raid?
- Princely Umanmielen – The Ole Miss defensive line seems to improve with every passing week. Umanmielen was incredibly disruptive last week. Look for him to take it to another level with SEC play starting.
- Antwane Wells Jr. – Juice Wells has caught a touchdown in every game as a Rebel and five straight games personally dating back to his time at South Carolina. The Wildcats are familiar with him as well—we had 66 receiving yards and a TD against them in 2022.
- Dane Key – Ole Miss fans might remember Barion Brown, who had 82 receiving yards against the Rebels in 2022, but the Rebel secondary will also have to stop Dane Key, who is 11th in the SEC with 66.0 receiving yards per game.
- J.J. Weaver – J.J. Weaver has led the Kentucky pass rushing with a team-high 2.0 sacks and three QB hurries through four games
- Demie Sumo-Karngbaye – Demie Sumo-Karngbaye is 11th in the SEC in rushing this season, and he'll be running into the nation's best rush defense this weekend.
