SERIES HISTORY
Sunday's matchup will be the 57th edition of the series between Ole Miss and Georgia. The Lady Bulldogs hold a 38-18 advantage in the series, but the Rebels have come out on top in the past five outings. The five-game winning streak is the longest for the Rebels in series history. Three of those wins came in Athens, where Georgia holds a 20-4 advantage.

Georgia accounts for three of Ole Miss' victories over AP top-10 teams, its most recent being in the Rebels' first victory in Athens in program history on Jan. 24, 2010. In a 66-65 nailbiter, all five of Ole Miss' starters scored in double figures to upset No. 8 Georgia. The Rebels allowed just 33.3% shooting from the field by the Lady Bulldogs, while draining nine 3-pointers.

Elizabeth Robertson scored a team-leading 17 points, while Nikki Byrd collected a 13-point, 14-rebound double-double. Robertson drained five threes for the most in the game.

Three of the past four victories for Ole Miss over Georgia have come by double-digit margins, including the first match of this season when the Rebels evened the series in Oxford with a 79-62 victory. Ole Miss' 79 points are the most its scored against Georgia since 1996, and the fourth-most scored against it in series history. Five athletes secured double-digit points, led by Cotie McMahon, who scored 24 points.

Last season, the Rebels earned a gritty victory in Athens, 63-58. Scott and Todd-Williams scored 19 and 15, respectively, to lead the team.  Scott had eight rebounds and five assists, both leading the Rebels in the respective categories. Christeen Iwuala had a solid outing, scoring seven points with six rebounds off the bench.

SCOUTING THE LADY BULLDOGS
Katie Abrahamson-Henderson is in her fourth season leading Georgia's women's basketball program. She's accrued a 62-52 record in her time at the helm.

Despite being selected near the bottom of this year's SEC preseason polls, Georgia has exceeded expectations by not only winning games, but dominating them. The Lady Bulldogs have the 26th-best scoring margin in the nation, and are winning games by an average of 20.2 points. More impressively, Georgia is one of the youngest teams in the SEC, with most of its key contributors being either true freshmen or sophomores.

Much of that offensive success comes from its backcourt duo of Dani Carnegie and Trinity Turner. Carnegie, a transfer from Georgia Tech, paces the team in scoring while Turner is dishing out the most assists. Carnegie's 17.5 points per game average is top-100 in the nation and top-10 in the SEC. She gets her points from beyond the arc as well as in the paint, averaging 41.8 percent from long distance. That mark is fourth-best in the SEC.

Turner is in her second season with the Lady Bulldog program after making a splash as a freshman last season. She was a member of the SEC All-Freshman Team while leading Georgia with 12.2 points per game. She had nine points and four assists when she faced Ole Miss last season. This year, she's averaging 4.6 assists per game, which is seventh-best in the SEC, while incorporating a smart playstyle that limits turnovers. Her assist/turnover ratio is one of the best in the conference at 1.8. She's also a defensive fiend, recording 35 steals this season.

Outside of that dynamic duo, Georgia boasts a talented forward group with Mia Woolfolk and Zhen Craft. The pair are averaging 11.9 and 7.1 points per game, respectively, and both are averaging north of five rebounds per game.

The Rebels will need to key in on the Lady Bulldog's long-distance shooting, as Georgia has the best 3-point shooters in the SEC. Georgia is shooting 34.8 percent from beyond the arc with much of its guards capable of pulling up from deep. Carnegie, Turner and junior guard Rylie Theuerkauf are the most dangerous. Theuerkauf is just behind Carnegie with a .407 clip from 3-point range and has made 37 deep shots this season.

LAST TIME OUT
No. 18/17 Ole Miss women's basketball dismantled in-state rival Mississippi State, 93-68, Sunday afternoon at the Sandy & John Black Pavilion in Oxford, Mississippi.

The Rebels (16-3, 3-1 SEC) secured their first 20-point win over the Bulldogs (14-4, 1-3 SEC) since Feb. 19, 1997, when Ole Miss won, 76-56. Ole Miss' 93 points is the most against Mississippi State since March 4, 1994, when it scored 100 points, and is tied for the second-most against it in the series history.

Four players scored in double-digits, three of which had at least 15 points. Cotie McMahon and Sira Thienou each had at least 20 points for the second time in as many games. McMahon led the charge again, totaling 21 points, as Thienou was just behind with a 20-point effort. Latasha Lattimore and Christeen Iwuala held the front court in check, scoring 17 and 14 points, respectively.

The Ole Miss defense stifled Mississippi State throughout the game, forcing 16 turnovers with 13 steals. Thienou was largely the reason for it, totaling five steals on her own. She's the second player this season to have at least five steals in one game. Oppositely, the Rebel offense were elite at taking care of the ball, having a season-low eight turnovers and allowing only four steals.

FIRST WIN AGAINST THE LADY BULLDOGS
Ole Miss women's basketball opened the conference slate undefeated with a 79-62 victory over Georgia on Jan. 1, 2026 at the Sandy & John Black Pavilion in Oxford, Mississippi.

Ole Miss' 79 points scored the most against Georgia since 1996, and the fourth-most scored against it in series history. The Rebels have won the past five games against the Lady Bulldogs, which is the longest series streak for the Rebels in program history.

Five athletes reached double-digit scoring, led once again by Cotie McMahon. The Rebel superstar put up 24 points, her eighth game this season north of 20 points. Behind her, Latasha Lattimore and Christeen Iwuala added 13 and 12 points, respectively. Debreasha Powe and Kaitlin Peterson scored 10 points apiece, with Peterson's coming off the bench. The duo went a combined 7-for-10 from the floor and 4-for-6 from 3-point range.

SEC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cotie McMahon of No. 18/17 Ole Miss women's basketball has earned Co-SEC Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

This marks McMahon's eighth weekly conference honor and her first in the SEC. She was a six-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week and won Big Ten Player of the Week on Jan. 22, 2024.

McMahon had an exceptional week, leading Ole Miss to wins over No. 5 Oklahoma and in-state rival Mississippi State after being named to the Wooden Award Women's Midseason Top 25 Watch List.

With 43 total points through the two games, McMahon ranks third most among the SEC, sitting just a field goal behind the leader this week. She also ranked third in total field goals (16) and 3-point percentage (44.4%) among the conference.

WE RUN THE SIP
Toppling Mississippi State, 93-68, in the Magnolia State matchup, Ole Miss secured their first 20-point win over the Bulldogs since Feb. 19, 1997, when Ole Miss won, 76-56. Ole Miss' 93 points is the most against Mississippi State since March 4, 1994, when it scored 100 points, and is tied for the second-most against it in the series history. The Rebels dominate the all-time series against the Bulldogs 70-39, including a 33-20 record in Oxford.
