Track & Field Ready for National Stage at 2026 NCAA Indoor Championships

3/10/2026 | Track and Field

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Ole Miss track & field will have nine total entries on the biggest stage of the collegiate indoor season at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, held this weekend at the University of Arkansas on March 13-14.

To qualify for the national meet, student-athletes needed to finish within the top-16 of their individual events or top-12 as a relay by the end of the regular season. Those 16 in each event will be competing not only for team or individual national championships, but also to grasp one of the coveted top-eight scoring spots for First-Team All-American status. Places nine-through-16 receive Second-Team distinction.

The Rebel men rank No. 11 and the women No. 12 in the Week Seven USTFCCCA National Rating Index released on Tuesday, wrapping their first consecutive wire-to-wire ranked indoor seasons since 2012-2013. Ole Miss rose as high as No. 7 in the Week Two rankings on Feb. 4 and only fell as low as No. 15 in the Week Six edition on March 3. The Rebel women, meanwhile, are at their highest ranking indoors since a No. 7 slot at the end of the 2024 season. This final ranking of the indoor season only uses entries to the national meet as a basis in its calculation.

ESPN+ will carry the action both days, with a dedicated field event stream that will begin in the mornings and an evening window for the track events.

Read below for more details on how to follow along, Ole Miss' history at the indoor national meet, and full profiles of all three Rebel qualifiers.

Team Superlatives

• Nine team entries third-most in Ole Miss history indoors, trailing only a record 12 by the Rebels in 2022 and 10 apiece in 2021 and 2017 – all under head coach Connie Price-Smith.

Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan is looking to become one of only four in Division I history to win four consecutive indoor shot put titles alongside Kansas' Karl Salb (1969-71), UTEP's Hans Hoglund (1973-75) and Arizona State's Ryan Whiting (2008-10).

• A win in either event would give Robinson-O'Hagan the most NCAA titles in Ole Miss indoor history (3) … Currently tied for the record with Antwon Hicks (2) and Jalani Davis (2).

• A win in either event would give Robinson-O'Hagan the most NCAA titles in Ole Miss history across both the indoor and outdoor seasons (4) … Currently tied for the record with McKenzie Long (3) and Savante' Stringfellow (3).

• Fourth ever shot/weight double, all by Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan (2023, '24, '25, '26); one of two this year attempting the men's shot/weight double (Texas Tanner, Air Force).

• First time in school history with multiple qualifiers in the men's weight throw … Before Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan, the lone qualifier in Ole Miss history was Stacy Andrews in 2003 (fifth).

• A win in both the men's shot put and weight throw by Robinson-O'Hagan would be the first by the same athlete since North Dakota State's Payton Otterdahl in 2019, and would mark only the third occurrence in collegiate history alongside Otterdahl and Ohio State's Dan Taylor in 2004. Schools to sweep regardless of the athlete include North Dakota State (2019), Arizona State (2009), Ohio State (2004), SMU (1981, 1983, 2000) and UTEP (1975).

• A win in both the men's and women's shot puts would be the first by the same school since Arizona State in 2022 (Jorinde Van Klinken, Turner Washington), and would be just the fifth-such instance alongside that Arizona State sweep in 2022 and a trio by UCLA in 1991 (Tracie Mullett, Eric Bergreen), 1995 (Dawn Dumble, John Godina) and 1996 (Valeyta Althouse, Jonathan Ogden).

Akaoma Odeluga attempting the ninth shot/weight double in Ole Miss women's history, all since 2017, first to do so since Jalani Davis in 2024 … One of two women attempting the double nationally this season alongside Minnesota's Anthonett Nabwe.

Akaoma Odeluga gives Ole Miss its fifth consecutive NCAA appearance in the women's shot put indoors, as well as its seventh in the last nine national indoor meets (outside the cancelled 2020 edition).

• A win in both the women's shot put and weight throw would mark the first NCAA sweep of those events in collegiate history, either by the same person or the same school.

• Sixth year in the last seven that multiple Rebel women have qualified in the weight throw … Ole Miss is one of three schools with multiple entries in the women's weight throw alongside Illinois (3) and Minnesota (2).

Arvesta Troupe is the first repeat qualifier in the men's high jump since Olympian Ricky Robertson, who qualified four straight years from 2010-13.

• A top-eight performance for Troupe would make him only the second to repeat as a scorer alongside Robertson's 2010 (second) and 2011 (second) performances.

Alicia Burnett is the first Rebel to qualify in the women's 60-meter dash since McKenzie Long in 2023 (seventh place).

Sterling Scott is the first Rebel to qualify in the triple jump since 2015 (Phillip Young, eighth).

Individual Superlatives

Akaoma Odeluga: Fourth and fifth career NCAA qualifying berth, now owns three national tickets indoors … First career national double across either season … Ninth women's shot/weight double in Ole Miss history.

Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan: 13th and 14th NCAA qualifying berths, seventh and eighth indoors ... Only Rebel to ever double in the shot and weight, has done so now four times (2023, '24, '25, '26) ... One of two nationally this year attempting the shot/weight double.
