EWA BEACH, Hawaii – The No. 41 Ole Miss men's golf team finished runner-up at the Hoakalei Country Club Invitational to wrap up their fall season on Wednesday, firing a final round 280 (-8).

Ole Miss finished a tournament under-par as a team for the fourth time this fall, going 20-under (270-294-280—844) to stay one stroke ahead of No. 10 Louisville for second place. No. 32 East Tennessee State took home the title at 29-under.

The Rebels led the field of 20 teams in par-5 scoring (-27) and total birdies (67), while notching their second runner-up showing and fourth top-four finish of the fall.

"Our guys came out and gave it all they had today," head coach Chris Malloy said. "I was glad to see them respond after struggling yesterday and make a run today. We will welcome the off-season and work hard to get better for the spring."

Veeti Mahonen led the Rebels on the leaderboard with a career-best finish, tying for sixth individually. The freshman went under-par all three rounds, going 8-under (68-71-69—208), for a new career-low 54-hole score. Mahonen was second on the team with 15 birdies and went under par on the par 5s (-6) and par 4s (-3). His final round 3-under 69, his third round in the 60s of the fall, included 13 pars, four birdies and just one bogey.

Sarut Vongchaisit finished in a tie for 14th after a final round even par 72 for his fourth top-20 finish of the fall. Vongchaisit collectively shot 4-under and went par-or-better all three rounds (68-72-72—212). He led the field in par-3 scoring (-4) and was the only Rebel to card an eagle, making a 3 on the par-5 ninth on Tuesday.

Jackson Suber moved up five spots on the final day to secure a top-20 performance. The sophomore shot a 1-under 71 on Wednesday to end his tournament at 2-under (69-74-71—214). During the final round, the Tampa, Florida native got off to a fast start with five birdies and three pars on the first eight holes. Suber finished in the top-20 every event this fall with six rounds in the 60s.

Charlie Miller shot a bounce-back even par 72 to finish in a tie for 19th alongside Suber. The sophomore opened up with a career-low 7-under 65 and led the team in birdies with 16 throughout the week. Miller went 65-77-72—214 (-2) in his first appearance for Ole Miss this season.

Jack Gnam had the low round of the day for Ole Miss and was the second biggest mover on the final day. Gnam shot a 4-under 68 to move up 30 spots to a tie for 25th. Gnam's 68 was highlighted by four birdies down the stretch after opening up with 10 straight pars.
